After creating the new look Stormblades from the SP/TL era Stormblades, i wanted to add a Stormsword company to my 77th Jouran Dragoons.
I'm not lucky enough to have the FW Stormswords, so i decided to base the conversion on the Shadowsword hull - since it is in the fluff anyway.
1 - I bought V1 Shadowsword hulls. They were the cheaper option too.
2 - Shortened the Volcano Cannon barrel, glued to tip back onto the shortened barrel
3 - Used spare plastic Epic 40K era Landraider sponsoons, cutting off the lascannon barrels and only using the tips, minus the iron sight.
4 - Used further spare turrets from the SM era Ork Battlewagons
5 - Cut off the cannon barrel from the Battlewagon turrets, drilled and inserted the the bits from the Landraider lascannons - primarily the 'baffle' as the heavy flamer tip.
6 - Used old SM/TL era infantry banner poles, cut into small pieces, attached them to the 'heavy flamer' as the 'igniter'
The idea was to make them as an obvious proxy to the Stormsword. I think its fairly close.
