I'm specifically interested in what models from DRM and EW most folks use to build which armies. If anyone can point me to a list, or wants to start a list it would be great.

Basically I'm looking for stuff with a minimum of conversion that can be fairly easily passed as something out of the 40k universe with the right paint job. Not bothered about specific armies. I'm trying to figure out which armies (other than those fully supported by GW at this stage) are the easiest to build.

Guard is by far the easiest.

EW Guild:
Achilles MBT as Leman Russ. (I ended up swapping the barrels to allow multiple variants for my Minervans.
Agamemmnon FAO as Salamanders.
Apollo SPA as Basilisk (If you cut down the barrels to the telescoping point they make good Medusas as well).
Cerberus as Manticores.
Cyclops as Griffons (or Bombards, if you prefer).
Elektra as Shadowsword.
Enforcer UPV as Baneblade.
Exterminator UPV as Stormlord or Stormhammer.
Hector and Paris IFVs as Chimaeras.
Prometheus as Hellhound.
Icharus SPAAG as Hydra.
Tridents as Tank Destroyers (a barrel swap would get you a Thunderer)
Legionaires as Stormtroopers
Snipers as, um, Snipers

EW Khazari:
Valkyrie Patrol (Rocket Pods) as Vultures
Valkyrie Transport as Valkyrie
Valkyrie Transport with Valk Patrol Cannon as Vendetta.
Raiders as Tauros/Sentinels

EW Royal Empire (upcoming):
Behemoths as Titans
Conscripts as Guardsmen

Many of these would be able to be used for Space Marines, too. Zulu-warrior has a nice Marine army log here using EW stuff.

E/W Edenites and DRM Androids = Necrons ... Edenite Jump troops = Chaos Raptors ... Any E/W or DRM IG Super Heavy = an appropriate Super Heavy Tank, same goes for any IG or SM AFV ... DRM Valiant = Rhino, Petard = Manticore or Whirlwind, Firewall = Hydra, Intruder = Griffin, Firemouth and Thunderstrike = Basilisk, E/W Hector = Chimera, E/W Drops = Drop Pods, etc.
Both DRM & E/W Human Infantry could = the appropriate IG Troops. Like DRM Jungle Fighters = Catachans ; Industrial Infantry = Tallarn. E/W Khazari = Squats ... Some DRM Kraytonians AFVs could = Eldar. Kraytonian Infantry could be Orks or Chaos. DRM Andriod Walkers = Titans, Knights, Dreadnaughts ... Really I don't think there is an "official" list ... Just do what looks good to you ... Use your imagination ...

DRM Industrial Infantry = Skitarii tech-guard infantry.
EW Bounty Hunters (with some GS) = Exodite Eldar
EW Edenite Jump Infantry Squad = Chaos Raptors
