Post subject:  Old painter - new thread

Hi

After many months of lurking an infrequent posting I have decided to share my current painting projects.I think the main thing is to say what a great community we have here and the inspiartion and talent is fantastic. My eyes are old and my hands are unsteady but i do try my best.

There is a blog http://stevemilford1.blogspot.com/ and before any body asks - yes my friends call me Milf, a 37 year old bloke called Milf. I should add that i have been wargaming on and off for 25 years and epic has always been one of the best scales and systems to work with. Just wish I hadn't "lost" my original collection from 1992.

An example of what to expect, once i work out how to post properly.

A Thousand Heroes - A loyalist ( Un named chapter).

Quick shot of the massed ranks, I will post individual units and companies later.

Need to repaint/touch up companies 7, 8 and 9 or find alternative mini's. Think I have found a great UK source though :)

Looking at the fluff, the Chapter (as yet un named) requires additional armoured vehicles - especially Land raiders! The quality of the painting last saturday at Skirmish (Cambs) my skills are, not lacking but not as refined.

WOW.... you painted a lot of marines. very intresting scheme too. But one thing I gota ask is where the ruins in the last pic are from?

yep - painted far too many marines, but it was something I wanted to do since 1992!

The ruins are castings from Linka moulds - managed to pick up a full set at my local model shop. The owner had it sitting in the back for many years and offered it at a very reasonable price. You can still pick up new moulds but they are mostly OO or HO scale rather than Epic.

Of course. Painted a hell of a lot better than mine, too.
