Post subject: | Proxies for imperial navy? |
Hi, I searched all the 6mm ranges I can think of for some adequate proxy for imperial navy aircraft (for Epic ), more specifically Thunderbolt fighters and Marauder bombers. I couldn't find anything I liked in terms of visual appeal. Is there a good alternative for them? I would prefer to remain in the visual realm of epic if possible. Any plans on doing one (from Otterware or similar) ![]() Thanks, Eyal. |

Forge world makes some great alternatives to the old metals, if you're after the visual look. |

Agreed. There are no really good 3rd party alternatives. FW flyers are one of the few things I'm still getting from GW. |

1/300 scale aircraft work pretty well, although if you're a stickler on WYSIWYG weapons they might get complicated. I use Trumpeter 1/300 scale YaK 141 for my chaos helblades and heltalons, basically unmodified except for a chaos-y paint job. Trumpeter is rather sketchy as they don't have a website, but their stuff is on ebay regularly with plenty of selection of modern jet aircraft. I would imagine GHQ aircraft would work really well too. EDIT: here they are, behind the brass scorpions in my painting thread: http://www.tacticalwargames.net/taccmd/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=19634&start=45 |

Take a look at Reapers CAV line. The fliers are one of the highlights of this range: http://www.reapermini.com/Miniatures/ts ... test/07099 http://www.reapermini.com/Miniatures/dr ... test/07094 http://www.reapermini.com/Miniatures/kikyu/latest/07100 http://www.reapermini.com/Miniatures/kharl/latest/07073 |

Thanks, what a nice range.. What is the scale of this line? I read somewhere N-scale which whould be 1/160 or 10mm, but how do they compare to epic scale? i especially think of using some of the mechs as titans, then again EW should release royal empire behemoths which I prefer.. thanks, Eyal. |

i currently use one of the Cav fliers as helltalons/tormentors in my Bloody Hand/Crimson Bondsmen list. viewtopic.php?f=119&t=19090 its about the size of the SG marauders (or a little smaller than the FW thunderbolts) there's a pic with it and some other tanks on page2 |
