Hi!

Anyone now how the old FASA centurion tanks compare with standard epic tanks?

The link from the current vendor C-in-C is:

http://www.pfc-cinc.shoppingcartsplus.c ... 301659.htm

Any help is appreciated.

Hi Peter,

They're too high-tech for Epic.

The plastic ones are small compared to Epic and the C&C metal ones are also small compared to Epic, but less so.

Shabbat Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

Hi!

Maksim, I am actually looking for very "high tech" looking grav tanks for a planned expansion on the netepic slann army list.

So are the heavy tanks from C-in-C in metal all that smaller?

Or is it a small difference?

I would think that Irregular or GZG tanks would be better suited...

You should really put this question to the 6mmSFWG E-group...

So are the heavy tanks from C-in-C in metal all that smaller?

Yes, they're smaller than most Epic tanks... think real 1/285 or 1/300 instead of the roughly 1/250 that Epic miniatures really are.

Or is it a small difference?

They'll look dinky compared to Epic infantry and vehicles unless they're the original "dinky" 5mm Epic minis from SM-1 and AT-1.

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

I have to second Maksim's opinions here. Only the very heavy tanks came close in size. All of the others seemed small when set next to Epic stuff.

Hi!

Thanks for the input guys!

Maksim, I just dont like the look of the GZG or Irregular grav tanks. I like the Centurion look, but, as mentioned are too small.

I like the CAV stuff though, even if somewhat larger, it may suit.

If anyone has more recommendations for grav tanks, let me know. :)

Brigade Games.  Similar to GZG, but may be different enough.  Huge variety.

Hi!

I guess I'm difficult to please these days. I have seen the Brigade model ones, but dont ike them much either.

I had my heart set on the Centurion ones, but they are too small... :(

Perhaps some of the CAV or BT ones will work.....

Hey Primach,

Your not the only one, I agree with your view toward both companies. ?While I consider both GZG and Briagde good average minatures, I have found both lacking in some way. ?I don't own any minis from either company. ?Maybe it's that Latino aesthetic sensability. ? :D ?

I have always considred the FASA centurion tanks some of the best looking "hard" sci-fi tanks around. ?It's a pity those minis are not compatible with the epic line. ?Maybe they should best be used in their own gaming universe.

I did hear from the guy at DLD that he may be producing some 1/285 scale stuff in the future.

There are also a few Battletech miniatures that may work. ?Most of their vehciles are ugly, but some are real nice. ?No grav stuff I think. ?Iron Wind Metals ?

The Cav is N scale (12mm) but may work with the epic stuff. ?They have some nice stuff, sometimes their vehicles are a little funny looking. ?Their airplanes look awesome.

Good luck on your quest and let us know what you fine.

Just out of curiosity, have you looked at Adler's Dark Star Line?

I would recommend Adler too. IMO they have real high-tech look.

Their site is here.
