Hi all, here's another of my likely-to-be-inconclusive diaries: this is my competition diary. I'll hopefully be able to explain what I'm up to (without pics, though) in preparation for the competition - and my first anniversary at Epicomms.
So - today I decided to put up this diary....and crashed. Whcih category do I enter? Not the battleforce one, bec I don;t have time to paint a battleforce which hasn't been seen here and which is of competition standard. That's easy. I was thinking of entering deffsta the Gargant, but he's been seen (incomplete) here, so no go. The same goes for my weird Ad Mech conversion. So it's something new entirely. A single heavy vehicle or Titan is alluring, mainly bec it's just one model I can concentrate on. But which? I won't reveal all now, but I have one of each which I'm considering - a component from the 3rd army, and a smallish Titan - nuff sed! A small tank unit perhaps - I'm not good enough with troops. And I'm toying with a terrain idea.
Whatever the case, I should decide soon and concentrate on just one; and if there's time, move on to another only after the first is complete. Concentration of forces.
I also need to get a digital camera, without which I cannot take part.
Finally, there's the final dilemma - do I go for heavy conversions, which take more time and need to look just right, or do I make an extra-special effort with the paint job? And what sort of paint job? A simple but striking scheme, or a more elaborate one?
Dilemmas galore!

The entry has to have been completed in the last year, OR has not previously been seen/photographed before. Thus you can photograph and enter stuff from your group that hasn’t been published before. | ...was that you can enter Deffsta and the Ad mech vehicle, as they have (or would be) completed in the last year, even though we've seen them before.. Indeed.. Falesh has entered his gargant in the titan catagory, and we've seen it before, iirc..
Jimbo will confirm things I'm sure...

Just to clarify
As you have painted and completed the miniatures in 2004 then they are eligible for entry.
The rules state that
The entry has to have been completed in the last year, OR has not previously been seen/photographed before.
So even though we have seen them they were painted in 2004 and therefore are eligible for entry.
The competition is there to encourage people to paint models and the rules are there to stop old has-beans like me submitting pictures of models that are on my website and I painted ten years ago....
Also the more entries the better, so don't feel that you may not be up to the standard, as you never know...
Also in terms of pictures
Take a digital picture of your entry (if you do not have access to a digital camera, please contact Jimbo for a postal address who will scan the picture for you).
I will scan pictures if required (and if you send me the miniature I will even photograph it - and if I like it you may not get is back....)
Hope that clears things up
Cheers
Jimbo

Oh great, just when I'd decided, I realise Deffsta and co are in the running again - grumble grumble grumble (thanks guys) grumble which-to-choose-grumble.... Oh - new factor - the Great Gargant Mob rules mentioned elsewhere.....i'm itching to try to knock up something weird from this list! PS - I also forgot to mention I'm trying to finish off around 50 WHFB Chaos types for a tournament in september - including a messy Hellcannon conversion...

Hi all, the diary hit a snag! Seeing other competition-related posts I've realised (doh - he's woken up at last) I can't discuss what I'm doing for the competition. So I'll discuss what i'm not doing - or rather, what I should be doing and what I'm doing instead - well - what I mean is I should've been painting/converting stuff yesterday (took a day off) and instead ended up painting a whole lot of models for the WHFB tournament....umm. It's a good job the competition is in November. What I have done is think about Deffsta the Gargant. Since I'm mentioning him you'll now know I'm not entering poor old D, who'll have to wait a bit more for his paint job. Too big! So now you know it'll be something smaller.
