Hey All, Does anyone know of some good proxies for IG artillery crewmen out there? I'm looking for something in production, with a variety of poses (holding ammunition, pointing, and otherwise looking busy - unlike the SM/TL era ones that are just standing there). thanks |

E&C will be making some 'French' artillery crewman soon that could be perfect. Not in production yet though. |

Iron Duke wrote: Yeah, those are pretty good. I have some, but they are also a bit small compared to the GW plastics, with which some of them may be sharing a battlefield. I guess I'm looking on the 'heroic' side (read: unrealistic ![]() |

CinC 'Solar Marines' has a pack with some crewmen plus some light artillery, I could see them being IG, been thinking of picking some up: http://www.pfc-cinc.com/catalog/item/80 ... 44369.html Dark Realm Miniatures Pax Arcadian HQ's has some cool artillery appropriate figs, but none handling shells. http://www.darkrealmminiatures.co.uk/st ... t=2&page=1 |

Here's what I usually do: First, find multiple pieces of pre-existing sculpture, but larger. Second, teach yourself how to use a CAD program to the point where you can generate an 'airtight' STL file. Copy the sculptures using a caliper and eyeball. Third, find someone to print that piece in a heat sensitive wax. Fourth, dip the wax print into a high temperature enamel. Fifth, melt bronze and pour it into the enamel mold. Sixth, break the mold open. That will get you a bronze master pattern. Seventh, take the master to a moldmaker and have them make a high temperature spin mold using a master / production technique. (This also encapsulates about three or four more steps, but you get the point by now). Eighth, spin the production mold at high speeds while pouring in molten tin. It's so easy, anybody could do it! You know what? On second thought, it would probably be faster just to use a knife and some glue. |

Check this thread for updates in the next decade or so. The CinC solar marines look pretty cool Westside - I might use those for skitarri, depending on their size. I'd still like something more low-tech though... any other viable suggestions? Besides not having the skill to operate my own miniature miniature factory, I also lack the funds to purchase a majority share of an appropriate manufacturer, so consider that suggestion tabled. ![]() |

The Royal Empire Conscripts are getting loaders and spotters. We've a load more Conscripts being worked on as we speak. I'll post the updates on the blog as we get them. |
