Has anyone tried using PVA glue to mask details when applying a sprayed paint coat? Any luck with this? worth a try? |

I would think that rubber cement would be easier to work with and clean off a model. |

why not just use liquid latex mask? |

It is water soluable, but not if it is covered with a layer of acrylic... I suppose you could scrape the paint off an then dump it in water. I would find the extra dollar or two spent on the latex/rubber cement would be well worth it when compared to the extra time and effort. |

True enough, it's not as if I'm not spending dollars on ArmyPainter pigmented sprays, etc. anyway. I suppose part of the other attraction for me for PVA glue masking is that it is fairly 'kid-friendly,' meaning that I can involve my 3-year old in some portions of the painting process, rather than having to create an 'exclusion zone.' You're right about the issue of solubility, it'll be one of the interesting things to text out: just how impermeable is the layer of acrylic. It's a good reminder to test on a second-class mini. |

Rubber cement is very kid friendly. I used to use it in grade school all the time. |
