Just thought I'd post a few photos of some orks I've been painting up. The redsunz are really inspired by Onyx's web site. (seeing Onyx's site was a big inspiration that helped get me started with Epic, thanks Onyx). I've been trying to paint the orks up according to their tribal 'fluff' with the object being that perhaps someday they will all get in some big fight amongst each other without needing any pesky hummies interfering in the 'fun'. |

Suppose the sunz mechs will hang out in some stompas (think I need to mount their 'feet' on some old battle wagons, kinda like mobile tool boxes) and of course the sunz will have a skwadrun of planes.

The goffs might get sick of the sunz making all the noise and decide to pay a visit to suggest they pipe down.

Then the badmoonz will turn up and smooth things over with a few bags of teef and get the boyz to go fight some squats (knowing the real payoff will be the looted squat shinny rocks from the mines) In all seriousness however, so far the orks have been really fun to paint and I'm really looking forward to attempting to get creative modding their gargants and hope to end up with a really huge mob of boyz.

Beautiful use of washes on those gunwagonz - how'd you do that? |

The wash for the wagonz is pretty much the same that is presented on Onyx's website: silver base, wash with a 25% devlan mud/25% gryphonne sepia/50% water, let dry, paint random panels red (or other orky affiliate color), then wash with 50% badab black/water. Check out Onyx's site if you get the chance it really has some of the best Epic scale painting tips I have ever seen. |

Great job Westside Have to agree about the painting tips on Oynx's site. Just wish my skills (hands and eyes) were better so i could put into practice what he posted! |

Thanks for the complements and feedback everyone. People posting their smaller scale work on this site and others has been a great inspiration. I find it's actually easier and quicker to paint visually satisfying minis in the smaller scales than the larger. It's a shame that that is not more well known by the gaming community in general. I rememember back in the early '90's everyone in the gaming group I was involved in wouldn't touch Epic minis nor play because they felt the scale was impossible to paint. |

Excellent work on the minatures, I to love painting and converting 6mm, Have done a few 28mm minatures lately and didnt find it as enjoyable as painting 6mm scale. I suppose its a scale thing as you can pretty much build what ever structure etc as you like in 6mm, where as 28mm you are limited to what you would physically want to build. Plus the 6mm standard these days is out of this world ![]() Regards epic |

After a summer of getting kicked around on almost a weekly basis the boss finally got fed up and put the meks to work. The Meks being sneaky gits at heart got their inspiration from the humie Stuart Williamson at Forgeworld. Everything is pretty much out of card, with a little green stuff to hold it together. Rivet plates were added with the 'Kat's' method of using heavy wine bottle foil. The 'lifta droppa' is just a couple of the 'mega gargant' lifta droppas merged and shortened, that's where the 'Gaze of Gork' beam generator comes from too. The right hard point is maganetized and the 'Lifta droppa' can be swapped with a close combat chainsword depending what the boss wants
