so I've managed to get myself a cheap deal on a large Imperial Guard army for E:A, thing is, it's mostly painted, not to my tastes either, and I'm wondering if the usual methods (pine sol, DOT4 brake fluid) are appropriate for removing paint from Resin miniatures? if not, can anyone suggest a suitable alternative? if this is in the wrong forum, I apologise! |

There's a "strippers" topic in the epic 6mm board, I suggest looking there. I think Simple Green would be safe with resin |

High concentrated alcohol works pretty well, but can interfere with some kinds of resin if left in there for too long. Around here, you can get a liter of 93% denaturated (undrinkable) for the equivalence of $3. Let soak for an hour, scrub with an old toothbrush, rinse in water. |

Simple green works on resin, my lightnings have had at least 2 baths in it with no ill effects |

DON'T use brake fluid :-)! It makes the models bloom and go all rubbery :-(! |

No, industrial alcohol is undrinkable because of the benzine, lead methanol and shit in there. I know you're joking, but I'd rather spell out the real reson for not drinking that stuff. I carefully painted skulls on my bottles, it's useful stuff for airbrush cleaning, ans as a diluent when you want something that actually dry faster than water-diluted acrylic (which is rare). |

What you get here is basically vodka that hasn't been watered down after distilling, with an emetic with a boiling point near the boiling point of alcohol added. It's not exactly poisonous, but you can't drink it for fun .. |

benzine is also one of the worst carcinogenic the world has to offer. a sip of industrial alcohol is probably comparable to a few years of smoking. |
