Recieved some of the new Deth Kopters yesterday (who started me on this ork lark?) and I wasn't really impressed. The pilot is tiny and badly formed, reminded me of a rice grot, only smaller! So (a) what were the previous editions like? (b) any ideas as to how to remedy?
At the moment I'm planning on replacing the pilots so you'll end up with a sort of oversized (slightly) koptered jumppack..(anyone remember those ActionMan ones?)

Pity on the quality of the deth copters I did like the idea behind them. I'm not too happy with the IG support teams and have started to make my own. Cheers.

I have to agree. Got two blisters of Death Koptas and the pilot is really not a very good sculpt In fact I was so dissapointed that I haven't got arround to assemble any of those models yet. To make them look allright it's gonna take some extra paint work I'm affraid. I suppose it's possible to cut of t5he pilot and replace him with a plastic ork for just a bit more detail but I think it's too much work for too little reward.
Cheers!

Shalom, Maksim-Smelchak. | But the rice grot will look great I tell you...
Too funny.
Rice Grot: Any figure lacking in detail.
Sounds good to me.

Got mine on preorder... these are the first ever made. G/W had never released D/Koptas before. ?
As I said on another post, I used the Mk.1 Boyz heads to replaced the "nub" on the E-40K Wartrak and Buggy gunners' heads. A little Pain Boy surgery... they look good and I guess I may have to do the same to my D/Koptas when they arrive next month.
Too bad... for the price, we should get a better product... not rice-grotz ? ?
And I never liked the IG Spt Plt with sand bags... but bought them anyway? Thought that concept was dumb... since you already have those figs on the sprue and can make your own. Don't like the base with sand bags, either... may sell them off?

Just had another look at the GW store, theirs painted up ok. I think the L4 solution is the way to go, tho' I hadn't for the buggies and they're just about serviceable, painted

Hi!
I got those copters too, I agree it isn't a great model. But perhaps it will look better when painted?

I am making my own from sawn off buggies and plastic strip

t uses an Ork Buggy with the wheels sawn off, a small piece of the base sprue as the engine and the blades were made from plasticard strip.

I have always like Jimbo's version. And I agree, it is much better then the one they have out now.
Great job Jimbo!
