Hi everyone!

Thought I'd do one of these paintblog thingies, to perhaps get some extra motivation to paint.

I decided to take up epic again a few months ago, I used to play when I went to 6-9th grade and I'm now 29 so it's been
a 12 year hiatus. A lot of things have happened to epic and I have to say I really like the E:A rules, they give a lot of things tactically
to think about but are still fairly simple. I started to google the internet in december to see if there were any Epic:A tournaments
in Sweden, I find that a tournament usually gives me the motivation I need to actually finish painting an army.
I only found one tournament, it takes place on Gothcon, Swedens biggest gaming convention, I decided to paint a necron force to take to the event.

It is now two weeks left and I have started painting in earnest, so I thought I'd share the progress.

Here's what have been painted the last two weeks.

I've also started building my supreme commander warbarque, here's some WIP pictures

That's all for now.
Cheers for reading!

Some excellent necrons here
your Inf. is looking really awsome
and I like the way you have done the green glowing effect
not that bright and bilious green
but turns out very well

the main gem looks ace

cheers

Thanks guys!

So you want more updates you say :)
Well I can't give you an update on the necrons because very little has happened except for two more
finished monoliths, but I can give an update of sorts, I've been a bit distracted from my necrons:

Back in the day my two main races were first squats and then orks. I feel drawn back to them because I
want one army that follows the ordinary game mecanics a bit more than the necrons (e.g. that can't teleport
anywhere they want).
So I have dusted off some old miniatures and I also bought a big bunch of the newer ork models. I plan to make an
infantry based army with two big warbands and one huge one. I have no idea if this is "good" it's just the way I
envision ork armies to be, you know lot's of boyz.

So here's what I've done instead of painting necrons today:

Ork boy unit

I've actually built all ten units of an ordinary warband, but they're all black so I didn't take any pictures of the rest. Above
is my first test unit. I want them to have yellow as an army color, but I think I have to go a brighter yellow than on the unit
above because seen from a distance then the colors sort of melts together.

thanks

I'm really in a ork hobbying mode right now, which of course is bad considering the tournament.

did some more stuff late last night

This is my ork Warlord in mega-armor. It's a wip, I need to lower the head more into the body
and I can't help but feel that he looks a bit tau. I think I might ditch the two banners for one big instead.

Can you guess the parts? ;D

Shortened big shoota barrel

*Copy/Paste -Directly to my army. Great idea, why didn't I think of that!? A great way to add variety.

Really nice conversion work there, will definitely steal the sensible big shoota idea. WBBQ looks really promising too.

Painting is nice too.

Thanks!

Yeah I sort of felt the big shoota looks rather rediculus with the long barrel so i have shortened them
on all of the big shootas I've used so far (all four of them ;) ).

Cheers

Post subject:  Re: Borkas painting - necrons & orks

I had a lot of fun yesterday converting my Warlord so I couldn't help myself to continue do some ork stuff today rather than
the necron stuff I should be doing.

I have now finished the lord and his nob unit

Guy in the back

I've also done the other Nobz unit for the same warband with some simple conversions

and the guy to the left:
maybe the warlord was a bit to tricky but this guy is a bit easier can you guess the parts? :)

Doing epic stuff is a lot more fun than I thought it would be, well actually ork stuff I guess. I found
the necrons to be rather dull to paint.

cheers

I believe it is from the old plastic Ork Dreadnought.

Yes indeed it is! It has two of the same kind so i thought I'd converte one of them
so it was very convenient to use it for my warlord :)
