OK, so its not exactly camo, but I wanted to paint my slowly materialising EA IG force using red as a basis, but I am not sure exactly how it will look. Also, black is the obvious counter colour for this, but I am wondering about something different, maybe yellow as a secondary colour. So, two questions...

- does anyone have any pictures of red IG Epic minis?
- any suggestions on this kind of scheme?

I had considered purple or orange instead, but these wouldnt be very realistic, would they? >:D I just know that I want to avoid grey, blue of green, so I guess a third question would be...

- any other colour scheme suggestions?

I painted Khorne faction LatD in red uniforms with black armour. It worked out well. The trick is to use a brown wash and then build up your highlights by adding bubonic (GW) or plague (Vallejo) brown. If I built an AdMech army, that is what I would do.



As you can see, the other prevalent colour scheme echoes your thoughts as well by using khaki and red.

You could maybe make them look like Adeptus Mechanicus troopers so you could use either list?

I've done a few combinations of red IG troopers. MY PDF force is red-brown and gray and the admech skitarii are red or off white and red.

When I did my Guard, I did blood red, then black on the faces, boots and guns, devlan mud, then back over with the red again, and that looks good. Doesn't have the detail of some of the above, but it works for me. I'll try and get a photo done.

i've been working on my Bloody Hand/Blood Pact/Crimson Bondsmen army for a while now. Infantrywise i've only gotten my Death Brigade done, but stay tuned, more infantry will be appearing soon
my method is Mechrite Red -> Devlan Mud for the red, it looks pretty good, all hail the Mud.

I bought a large quantity of those models and they're very nice, but I'll be selling off a load of them and other things in the next week or two on here once I've sorted through things.

Thanks guys. Some inspirational - and a little scary - pictures there, and enough suggestions to make me believe that it is possible - even for non Khorne/AdMech forces! I guess that my worry is more with the tanks, although L4s post pointed me towards Tuffs DRM Andy stuff, and I am moving towards that kind of a design but with a red instead of a blue..... Thanks again.

The Edenite tanks, and some of my old Tech Guard uses a teracotta and blueish grey zig zag scheme. Black undercoat. Drybrush shadow grey, Scorched brown zig zag pattern and teracotta red rightlights. (Or you could just paint them teracotta and use a wash instead.
