If no one else beats me to it, I can try to snap a shot tonight. Any requests on what models to compare them to? |

Indeed, marginally smaller than the E40k guardsmen (who's on the big end of 6mm anyway). Any chance we'll see heavy weapon options Steve? Eight stands for less than $1 each is a great deal (makes you wonder if GW's plating their stuff with gold or something...) |

I suppose I could charge a dollar or two more for some things, but I try to keep prices reasonable. It wouldn't be so bad if metal wasn't absurd right now, i think its like $10 more per pound than when I released the first wave of the vehicles. As far as the infantry, I am actually slightly more expensive than dark realm if you just go by conversion rates. What Games Workshop charges for their epic models is actually insane. |

Sorry Dave, missed the question up there. I think I will commission some heavy weapons. I was thinking about something along the lines of the Imperial Guard Cadian plastics in terms of configuration. But now I'm wondering why a race as advanced as the Foundationists would not mount their heavy weapons on Anti-grav platforms. Any preference as to the overall look? |

Are both a possibility? ![]() I could see mounting some kind of support laser/cannon on a platform, but a tube launch guided missile will have its uses in the far future I think. The platforms would make them great Eldar proxies (I was actually looking at these guys as infantry to go with the GZG Kra'vak tanks I have for an Eldar proxy army). The shoulder mounted would make them more of a high-tech guard. I could see myself getting both though. |

Even though I sometimes find GW prices hard to stomach, (I'm sure) it's due to the fact producing/manufacturing the models is their actual 'day job'. They need to make a large profit with niche goods to make it worth while to even have them taking up shelf space in a warehouse. Due to the 'panic' over the alleged switch to resin and possible demise of SG I've just bought up a bunch of feral ork, really clever and fun (and yes twice as much $$$ as a generic, but then again I don't have to spend hours making them look like what I want). Considering we all like (I gather?) the 40k universe and epic gaming it strikes me as rather odd it's become cause de rigueur to critize the creators/company of it constantly. I'm old enough to remember gaming before GW, it was kinda like being on an uninhabited desert island; once and awhile a cool item would wash ashore, but mainly you didn't have much of anything (cardboard chits, and hex maps anyone?). Oh, well, sorry for the rant. I really enjoyed painting up the foundationist infantry, and they really filled a troop/design I was seeking (thin/lanky futristic). I would have gladly paid a couple bucks more for a pack (especially if it would encourage more offerings and filled the producers/creators pocket, you really did EARN it) That being said, really, nice work. Be really cool if microworld put some long thin rectagular rifles on the ones with the backpacks and called them foundationist heavy infantry. (I cut out a bunch of tiny card, which my arthritis didn't thank me for)

Nah, in all fairness they have a huge fixed overhead in terms of their retail chain. Even a one man store probably runs in the $50k range for rent, salary, and utilities anually, quite aside from the capital tied up in inventory. It's their largest asset and their achilles heal at the same time. |

I disagree. There is no reason for some of the things GW does. Epic pricing is a perfect example. ......Anyway, I don't want to get off topic, which is: "Hey, these infantry are really really nice". I was the first kid on my block to get a few packs of each. Haven't painted them up yet as the 2 yr old and soccer season for the 7 & 9 yr olds are monopolizing my time. However, I can see me getting some paint on them soon. As soon as I get a few months of pay out of my new job (just started 2 weeks ago), I will be purchasing some more. Thx for the comparison pics. Also, Otterman, your prices are pretty good. I want to buy from you as well but, only have so much disposable income at present. I just started a new job and should be doing better (disposable $$) in a few months. Just in time for Microworld's 2nd wave. ![]() |
