Any suggestions for other manufacturers who make suitable(and even affordable) dropships or transport skimmers for my air mobile IG force?

I've got a nice large drop ship from Jez at Old Crow and was looking at some of the GZG stuff as well. Something that may be able to airlift Earthshaker platforms would be nice! :D

Glory to the penal battalion, the Empire's ablative armour!

Cheers.

Hi!

I think GZG makes a resin dropship like vehicle. I'll try to find out if its still available.

Hi PB,

There are a large number of dropship manufacturers (GZG, Ironwind, Old Crow, etc.).

There are also a large number of hovercraft, GEV, skimmer manufacturers.

Look at the 6mm_miniatures web site under the links and then under 6mm sci-fi manufacturers.

http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/6mm_Miniatures/

I also have suggestions for different conversions on that page including the popular Thunderbirds flyer.

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

I have the GZG Heavy Dropship plus some of their smaller ships that I use.  They are very nice ! The Old Crow models look good too.  I have a complete Space Wolf Dropship Regt.  :;):  "Death From Above"  :D

You could always convert from a 1/35th scale plastic kit.

That's the spirit, Jimbo! So's if I can build a Landa (green is good and Thundabads ARE go..), I can build an Imperial Lander. Hmmm.

Hi ...

does anybody have pics of the gzg dropship and a product code ? Unfortunately I couldn't find the "heavy dropship" on their homepage and sadly they don't have pictures available for all their items.

Regards

Sven

Sven,

Check out a site on 6mm_minis called "The Mech Depot."

It has photos of everything.

Maksim-Smelchak.

Just went to the GZG site... didn't see the Heavy DropShip listed! ?

But I also use MT-15 Mil. Assault Lander and MT-17 Orbital Gun Boat... they are still there! :)

Hi!

You're right L4 no heavy lander. I wonder if there are other companies that make something suitable.

The best model was the now defunct SM dropship, the molds for some of the parts wore out.

Luckily I got my 6......  :;):

Hi ...

just saw pics from the new sm dropship shown at salute here in the articles section. This thing looks really great, do you think it's wort its money (25pounds) ?

@MaksimSmelchak: Sorry Maksim, couldn't find the link you mentioned called "The Mech Depot." Do you have this link at hand ?

Sven

I like some of the GZG stuff but not many pictures on the site. It is nearly impossible to fight to the front at salute to see some of the 6mm stuff! So far Old Crow seems to be winning for me, at ?5.50 for a drop ship that looks like it will take a whole company plus a few armoured /recon units thats good value. No weapons though, :( but nor does a Herc'.
Cheers.

I basically put The Mech Depot into Google it was the top ranked site. :)

Note it does have a picture of the Heavy Dropship.

The one you are looking for is

MT-28 Assault Lander, Super Heavy Duty,  8" Long

and yes it is 8" long...

MY mate Simon has one, I'll try and get a picture some time as the one on the site is rather small!
