I now have a new Digital Camera, the Canon EOS 300D, which is very nice and very flexible.
It has lots of great features
6.3 Megapixel CMOS sensor
7-point wide-area AF
High-performance DIGIC processor
100-1600 ISO speed range
Compatible with all Canon EF lenses and EX Speedlites
but the key for me was the compatiblity with my original Canon EOS equipment and lenses (and extension tubes).
The quality of the images is (IMHO) excellent.
Most of the followng shots were taken with an apeture of F36 and a ten second exposure (therefore tripod required).
