Hi. If anyone has the following models, could you let me know the height of them? - EA Ork Stompa - EA Ork Supa-Stompa Thanks. |

Many thanks. I just dont much like the models for these, and I have an alternative in mind with a little scratch building and converting.... |

The earlier plastic SM & E40K Stompas are fairly cheap, plentiful, & less fugly than the EA version. Outside of that, some of the smaller Warmachine Jacks are worth looking at. |

Yeah. I have a bucket-load of the older Stompas and I wanted to check if they were the same size. They sound about right for the standard Stompas. Now I just need to find a different model for the Supa-Stompa. Thanks. |

Yeah they are pretty close sizewise. See Man of Kent's thread (scroll down a bit) for a picture of the new Stompas and Supa-Stompas next to other ork stuff to scale them. I believe E&C has plans to CAD a W40k Stompa at some point, which is roughly an equivalent size to what in Epic we call a Supa-Stompa. I'm not sure how long away that'll be though, or how soon you want this. Also another obvious option is to use the old Mekboy gargant model, which I reckon is a nicer basic model than the current Supa-Stompa, though a little converting could make either look better. |

I'm hoping any CAD reproductions go another direction visually as the GW model isn't what it could have been. This thread has some helpful size comparisons HERE. The Mekboy is still the best base model IMO; it just needs an altitude adjustment. ![]() |

The 40k Stompa is just the Epic Supa-Stompa in size and capability. |

CS --> I've made a supa stompa out of an old SM stompa. I removed the feet, and added an extra skirt to the bottom of it using super sculpy, which increased its height by about 50%. This was then sculpted with green stuff and bent plasticard to make it look good. I mounted the whole thing on tracks and gave it a smallish belly gun using a flight stand rod. The upper body got some extra guns glued on as well as a shield generator disk, these came from the Mega Gargant sprue (death ray and weird boy tower disks). It looks quite ok I think. |

I would also love to see any built Stompas and Supa-Stompas out there, including CAD models..... nudge. So, ignoring current miniatures available, what would be sensible heights/sizes for the current stats? (Hypothetically, if I was going to build my own, what would be the 'right' size for them?) |

Quote: Hypothetically, if I was going to build my own, what would be the 'right' size for them? Well, based on the usual 5:1 reduction from 40k sizes, my own Megadreadnought (Stompa Proxy) will be 23mm tall, and my Stompa (Supa Stompa Proxy) will be ~45-50mm tall. My Stompa will have internal details. :-) |
