Just got lost reading the rest of your blog. Lovely stuff, makes me want to go put more detail on all my orks.

Do the old plastic Warlord parts come up often on ebay/for trade? I really like that head. Where is that gun from?

Not usually on their own, but you could ask in the Trade forums here? Folks might have some plastic weapons going spare maybe?

The gun is made from two old plastic Warlord Plasma Cannons. Link to the old stuff here and here.

An old pic, but you get the idea. These are just old cheap plastic Warlord weapons with some MkIII armor added made from plasticard. To make this, start by cutting the shape of the place from 1mm plasticard. Then add two or more thin sheets of 0.25mm plasticard and leave some panel line spacing and trim the edges to flish with the first plate. Very simple to do. You can add some FW brass etched eagles for extra detail.

They appear periodically. I probably have a spare one of those heads kicking around if you want one.

I have tons of these warlord plastic heads. So I can send some off to you too if Swarf can't find his.

Here's my 2 finished Warlords. Nothing to fancy with the converted one (on the right). Quake Cannons, Missile Launchers, banner and head.

I do have one more Warlord which will have magnetised weapons and a few more customised additions.

Thanks mate :-)
As above, it's a twin linked plasma cannon! 60cm 4xMW3+ Slow firing...if I recall correctly...!

Thanks for the comment on the blog also: I'll be able to add to it again in a few weeks!

I was thinking the heads might make for a good way to mark veteran princeps upgrade, so I imagine I could magnetise them and swap them in & out as necessary. If people have spares they don't mind parting with I'd certainly appreciate them.

@ Lsutehall, good call on the sentinel bits, I especially like the plasma cannon, think I'll pick some up for more weapons to swap in.

Thanks for all the rest of the advice guys, never really done any plasticard work but I think I'm up to it, will maybe pick some up with those sentinel bits and some magents.

Going by the link Major_Gilbear posted I take it the arm weapons on Onyx's & Warmaster Nice's Titans are the old plastic quake cannons?

I'll maybe create a wanted thread in the trade section next month when I've decided what I want/need.

It'd be awesome if I could see more shots of CaptP's warlord if possible.

The other warlords already depicted kind of put mine to shame, but since you asked here's my as-yet-unnamed magnetized Mk3 with his "plasma madness" armament (laser blaster, 2xplasma cannons, and plasma destructor):

The logic of camouflaging a titan-sized vehicle is shaky at best, I know, but drab paint jobs are more to my personal taste.

EDIT: ugh, curse my camera! Those mold lines on the plasma cannons are glaring... they're really needling my OCD ;)

Love the laser blaster, do you have a shot from the other side?

Apologies for resurrecting this but I've made progress on my next Warlord conversion and was looking for opinions.

It's intended to be 2 quake cannons an AML and CLP. I tried to make the landing pad look like the distant cousin of modern aircraft carrier. Personally I'm not sure about my positioning of the landing pad & command tower. Has anyone got some thoughts or suggestions?

Thanks for the Close up shot of your Warlord captPiett looks great, think I'll nick your laserblaster idea too.

Thanks. I like the positioning and look of the of the CLP. The AML is also very cool. Both are more consistent with the Lucius pattern than the old bits.

As its already glued in place and primed, this might not be the most helpful advice, but as far as I know, the weapons combo you have is a bit problematic, since when combining BP (here the quakes and the AML) you drop the special attributes of the better one. So, some or all of those MW or ignore cover stats of the quakes will go to waste.

Someone else more knowledgable on the BP rules may be able to give you a more complete picture...

I'm not too worried, I know its problems, I'll just choose to put down 3 standard templates or 2 MW templates depending on range.

Thanks guys.
