I have a big problem for a little miniature, and I hope someone can help.
I dorked it up, but good, because I did a series of things I almost never do that culminated in a complete disaster.
1) I took 2 batches of figs out to the garage to spray with different finishes.
2) I didn't make sure the area was well-lit.
3) When I switched from the first batch (priming with a can almost empty) to the second batch (matte varnish in a can that sprays FAST), I did not do a "test spray" before pointing it at the figs.
Result: I put a huge amount of varnish on the fig before I realized what was happening. The varnish ran down into the details (of course) and dried white.
As a bonus, this was a conversion for the painting contest. It's a slaanesh Landraider patterened after Tuffskull's "40,000 Watts of War" miniature. It's painted in black and pink.
I would like some idea of how to fix this without a massive repainting project.
I'm pretty sure a black wash will fix all the black parts fairly quickly, as it would cover the white varnish down in the cracks and crevices. However, the Pink areas and the noise marine standing on top will pretty much need to be re-painted.
So...
Any ideas?
Or am I just stuck?
