Just went to the hobby shop and bought some Evergreen 2.5mm & 3.2mm plastic channels. - The 2.5mm fits perfectly over the F/W Leman Russ/Destroyer/Thunderer models' tracks and can be easily cut and bent to shape to cover the exposed tracks, like "real" AFVs. - The 3.2mm fits over the F/W Chimera, Basilisk, etc., tracks but would require some cutting and filing of the models because of the detail and tracks were molded too close to the hull, so I won't do those. ? - However, the 3.2mm will fit on most of the G/W Epic Imperial models tracks (SM1/2 & E40K). It should fit on most of the Land Raider models, but may require some filing of the top of the tracks. ? - Why Bother you say ?! Well I'll probably only use the 2.5 on the models I mentioned above, as they are MIB, everything else I have that is finished will stay as is. - And it's an easy "fix". And I guess I always thought (after serving in 3 Mech Bns), that the exposed tracks were kind of "goofy", for many reasons. -?I know, many of you say, well it's Sci-Fi, but as I have said before, just 'cause it's Sci-Fi, it does not have to be "goofy!"? ![]() |

Good stuff L4! I too have always had a bit of a problem, but despite having thought about it, never got around to doing anything about it... |

I love evergreen. I try to keep a huge variety on hand. For epic modeling one of my favorite products is .02 strip. I also like their rod and tube variety packs. Used to be they would send you a free sample if you wrote and asked, but I don't know if that is still the case. I need to check my latest fine scale modeler for their ad and see. |
