I'd promised to show someone (Sorry, I forget who, but it may have been Chris..???) some of my speed painted Blue marines. I've uploaded a couple of shots onto my workbench directory.

TuffSkull's workbench

I've also been finally working on my Moles and finished off a titan which was started AGES ago when we first created the De'Aynes gallery but I never got around to finishing!

Hey Tuff! It was me who you meant to show - come to think of it you sent me the same pics!

The moles are cool though. They are different because the tunneler and transporter are the same colour. Normally the transport is different to the ancient tunneling vehicle.

The titan is amazing! Did you do something to the head?

Cheers

Chris

Sorry for duplicating - Its been a long week (read as "year") - I've clean forgotten emailing them to you!

Thanks for the comments on the titan. The conversion work was simple enough. As for the head, Its one of the old SMII era metal titan heads. I've started work on another now, again with a SMII era head, Corvus assault pod ad a modified chainfist (spot the fortress Assault/siege titan.... :D). Oh and if anyone was wondering - the red blotches on the missiles are messages to the enemy. they read "its for you", "Duck", and "To Saddam". I've yet to add graffiti to the others!

The moles are painted to match all my Titan Legion and large war machines such as Capitol Imperialis and Leviathans etc. ?(almost said Praetorians.... hmmmm... Netepic must have got to me.. :p). To me, only the Hellbores are actually ancient & the other classes are relatively mass produced, hence the standard scheme. Its a simple paint scheme but works well for large models, especially on titans IMHO.

**edit**
Oh, and I forgot to add, if you/Tom want to take any of the images I post to my workbench for the new galeries then you're more than welcome. The images on my workbench probably wont stay up for very long so no worries on duplicating them!

Ok, thanks for that. We are currently overhavuling the galleries, so we need pics of anything and everything!! Please submit anything you want!! (That is to everyone!!!)

I like the idea on the titans missiles, "saddam" and all that. I know many of your aren't wrestling fans, but on one of the cruise missiles launched for real into Iraq, someone wrote, "This is the second year in a row you pricks made me miss Wrestlemania!!" (Well I thought it was funny) Another useless fact from Chris...

I think I agree with you about the tunneler colour scheme. I think I may experiment with something with my tunnelers. (I'm a lucky SOB, I've recently aquired TWO Hellbores! Awaiting delevery...)

Cheers

Chris

....More great stuff Tuffskull- love that Titan and the modelled up Moles- the base on the one drilling into the ground w/ transport is exactly the same way I did my Imperator BTW- well done again.... :D

-And you are again, astonishinly lucky Chris!! Two Hellbores, and the luck of finding a shop which was selling Moles..... :o ..shops which sell any GW stuff at all, let alone OOP Epic stuff are rather thin on the ground here in Suffolk!!

-Where did you get those two from?

Also, that shop sold OOP Knights! I have a little household now. (Yay!)

The first hellbore I got in a trade from Signius. The second has a bit more of a story behind it. I bid on one on eBay, only to find it increased beond what I wanted to pay for it bacause of the Proxy biding. So then I bid on a Leviathan from the same guy and won! (So I have a Leviathan as well!) When he e-mailed me to say I had won and sort paying details, he says to me I have another Hellbore, it has a bit missing, but other than that its complete. Do you want it? So I said YES!!!!!

What you want to do stormseer is find a wargames specialist, they in many cases have a trade in bit and GW stuff is usually abundant! Epic is sadly not...

Cheers

Chris

The basic color scheme is great, I shudder when I see Titans (a lot from the SM2 era) that are painted in "Raindow" colors :l !! And the graffiti is a great touch also, you see it on the news today and in footage of WWII, Korea, etc.  Although, I figure we'll have Saddam's head in a jar long before the year 40,000 !

Hi!

You'd be surprised how many stores are out there in the US that have old OOP epic just waiting to be picked up. Most of it are in bargain bins 50% or more off, laid aside and forgotten. It takes some work to find them, like visiting each and every store in a state (as I have done :p ) where I have lived. You'd be amazed. There are several stores that I still know of which have OOP epic wares waiting for me to pick them up.

..and no I'm not telling you where they are. }:)

G/W US :unclesam:, will ship overseas ... :;):   And I found a bunch of OOP Epic Ork Bitz (bikes, dreads, buggies, etc.) in a little hobby shop in Idaho years ago.  They had those metal Stompers, too, but I didn't buy them then and later I could have kicked myself. :{  I was lucky to find them here years later, Signius is sending them to me!    :D

I know what you gentlemen mean. I bought most of my hard-to-get models when a local store went out of business. At the time, I didn't really have a desire to get the fancy toys that the Capitolis Imperialis and Hellbore Tunneler, but I'm glad I have them now!   :D

I've found alot of OOP Epic items by stopping in shops when I'm on vacation.

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

Here in the cold north there's one shop, which occassionally has old Epic. The owner trades in used miniatures also, so he gets Epic armies from time to time.

The good news is the store is relatively near me (1 hour drive).

The bad news? The store owner knows what he is selling (he's a gamer himself) so the minis won't be in a bargain bin...  :(

Thanks for the comments on my pieces guys.

Legion4 - My titans have always been painted in a base grey style. However they do evolve over time. If they kick Ork Butt in a game, they'll have a small section of honour/heraldry/pruity seals/scroll markings added to signify thier victories. If they get beaten up, I cut damage into them and represent what happened.
I am currently re-setting all my titans ready to start again for E:A so its back to the grey hordes for a while at least! The one exception is my FW reaver - it got beaten up 3 playtest games in a row so I might leave a little damage in place on that one  :D

As for cheap OOP stuff, I was lucky just last nightat my local games club. I had my painting case with me as usual, which happened to contain a CI and a few titans, moles etc. One of the other guys comes up and starts looking at the old models, then turns to me and says "I've got one of those if you want it - Capital Imperials or something isnt it? Got a hellbore too if your interested".
Once I'd draggd my jaw off the floor, I asked how much and he said ?5 each! He's a mate, and I'm obviously too nice for my own good, so I told him that they were highly rare and ended up giving him quite a bit more than that, but even so it was a nice suprise

If you keep your eye out there's always OOP stuff flying around.  :l
