Does anyone know if there's a way to make 6mm decals? Or have some made up at all? I'm just not that happy with the wolf heads on my Space Wolves. Cheers all! |

I have a few sheets of decal paper just for this purpose. Do you have a good printer? My black ink is really low - like non existant... |

I do have a photo printable printer but I've never actually used it for that so no idea how it would go. Where did you get the decal paper from FB? |

It's really annoying me, but I saw a decent tutorial on exactly this subject just a week or so ago - and now I can't find it! Anyway, there are two kinds of Decal paper, and two useful colours too. 1) Decal paper is for Laser printers or for Inkjet printers - make sure you have the right one! 2) For each printer type, there are two main colours - White and Clear. Negative spaces (those that are not printed upon) are where the decal you have chosen will be visible. So if you want to do white tactical markings on an Ultramarine for example, you will have to use the white paper and do an outline. 3) Once you've printed your decals (run some test copies on normal paper first for scaling and design checks), let them dry fully. 4) Using a gloss spray, spray the decal sheets thoroughly and evenly. Let this dry too. You may want to spray a second time and then let it dry again. The gloss spray (and it must be gloss!) seals the printer ink against the decal paper. 5) Carefully cut out your decals with a very sharp razor and apply as normal to your model. Check out Micro Sol and Micro Set if you don't already use them. 6) You can seal your model as normal at the end with a matte finish. /// Edit: Found it! Linky. /// |

Hey Dobbsy, but your shoulder pads look great! I am painting a Space Wolves army myself and know what you mean. With a symbol like the wolven head it is really hard to create a consistent look. Although I have to repeat, your pads look far better than mine ![]() Until know, I left them all blank (yellow), would be interested in your progress, though. Some time ago, Legion4 was so kind to send me some triangles with wolven heads in them, the size was right for the pads, but unfortunately they didn't look enough Ragnar's company for my taste. Either way, apllying decals that tiny to a whole army is a royal "pain in der Arsch"... ![]() |

Have you considered making a tiny stamp instead? Might be quicker than the decals, and it'll still give you more consistent symbols. |

I believe I have the inkjet paper At $18 for 3 sheets frpom the Hobby man in Dandenong, I would rather share a sheet that I have with you and add my pics with yours so as not to waste a whole sheet on blank areas. I am happy to provide you with the sheet and pics and you go from there if you are going to do it. My pics are for Imperial Fists and probably various chaos stuff. Let me know which way you go Cheers... |
