Post subject: | Help Cataloging Epic Eldar Needed |
Quick disclaimer - this is probably not the right forum, but I couldn't see where better to put this topic - feel free to move it! Hi all, I'm a big Eldar fan and have spent a lot of time (too much time?) over the last 2 years trying to definitively catalogue GW's Eldar minis in all scales. I have a rudimentary knowledge of Epic models and am looking for assistance in refining and improving the catalogue. Only 10 minutes ago, for example, I discovered that the metal Nightwings come in two varieties (with and without rocket pods). If anyone would like to help out, I would be extremely grateful of your assistance and will happily receive any additional knowledge. I could also do with some help on contents of boxed sets, alternate version of models etc. Here's my rough first pass at the Space Marine era figures. Space Marine Phantom Titan - Farseer Head - Head 1 - Head 2 - Lascannon wing - Multi launcher wing - Legs - Foot - Shoulder guard 1 - Shoulder guard 2 - Torso - Heat lance - Psycannon - Pulse laser - D-cannon - V-cannon - Powerfist Revenant Scout Titan - Pulse laser - Body - Leg joint - Left leg - Right leg Tempest Grav-tank - Chassis - Turret Eldar Legion box - Guardians - Falcons Eldar Warhost box Epic Stompers box - Plastic Dreadnoughts Epic Armies Battle Force Epic Armies Attack Force Epic Armies War Horde Firegale Knight 1 Firegale Knight 2 Firegale Knight 3 Firegale Knight 4 Firegale Knight 5 Bright Stallion Knight 1 Bright Stallion Knight 2 Towering Destroyer Knight 1 Towering Destroyer Knight 2 Wave Serpent - Hull - Warp Energy Generator Doom Weaver - Hull - Web Spinner Deathstalker - Hull - Prism Cannon Warp Hunter Firestorm v1 Nightwing v1 War Walker v1 War Walker v2 Avatar v1 Avatar v2 Metal Guardian Leader Metal Guardian Metal Heavy Weapons Trooper Grav platform and Crew Lascannon grav platform Spotter Gunner War-Cry Dreadnought War-Demon Dreadnought Banshee Dreadnought Spirit Warrior Jetbike Guardian If you can help out, drop me a PM and I can email my excel file of the the rest of the different eras. Many thanks! |

Stuff of Legends http://www.solegends.com/citadel/index.htm should be helpful, although you need to check through each individual catalogue. EpiCollector http://epicollector.galactic-intrigue.com/ is also very helpful, but it's not as complete as SoL. |

Great - yeah SOLegends has long been a helpful resource and I've plundered it many times. I wasn't aware of epicollector though - I'll check it out. Thanks! |

Also, check out the Collectimng Citadel Miniatures Site. Not exactly exhaustive on Epic, but there's a few good pix in there (probably L4s stuff I'll bet!). |

Also remember to add the unreleased so called "X-vehicles", from the late TL era. This includes early Eldar aircraft, updated grav tanks and also the exodite models. |

The "Farseer" head is really the Warlock Titan head. There were 3 versions of War Walker (early 1 piece short barrels, the egg on legs, then the 2 piece modern looking version). Also the Tempest had a separate shuriken cannon turret, and the Mk1 Firestorm was 2 parts. The Warhost box had - Eldar Guardians (lasgun), Guardian with Lascannon, Guardian with targetter, Guardian with banner, Warlock, Exarch, Scout (Pathfinder these days), Dark Reaper, Fire Dragon, Striking Scorpion, Howling Banshee, Swooping Hawk, Dire Avenger, Harlequinn, Wraithguard, Jet bike, Vyper, Grav platform with lascannon, Grav platform with Vibrocannon. I think that's it.... |

Indeed, I have all of those apart from the Deathspinner or Farseer grav tank (I've seen it referred to as both). Do you know of any other unreleased / limited release Eldar figures? zap123 wrote: The "Farseer" head is really the Warlock Titan head. The only reason I referred to the 'Farseer' head on the titan is that is what it was called when first released. It didn't become a Warlock Class titan until a little bit later ![]() |

I think there are four versions of this model?SM2 - Cockpit looked like a little egg-shaped pod TL - Looked like the WH40k 2Ed War Walker, came on a 25mm slottabase E40k - Newer style, came with three parts each (the legs, the cockpit/weapons and a fin at the back that looked accordion-like) EA - Remoulding of the E40k version I beleive, mostly lost the "accordion" rear fin. There were also a number of variant parts for the E40k version - different weapon options, and possibly different legs too I think. |

Also, there have been four versions of the Avatar: SM2 - Arms and legs outstretched, spear TL - Looked like the WH40k 2Ed avatar, striding forward and holding sword high in the air, came tabbed for a slottabase E40k - Smallest of them all, it has a dynamic pose where it's leaning into a charge and is waving a more triangular sword. EA - Latest version, wielding a spear again. Can be found in the Court Of The Young King blister on the SG website. |

Although I've never had any confirmation on this I also suspect theere may have been a Metal prototype of the Mk1 plastic falcon. There's a picture from 1st ed. Codex Titanicus (I think) that has some falcons in it. The angle of the rear part of the body looks a bit weird, as does the "lance" weapon. It sort of makes sense though, as a lot of other early stuff had metal versions done for in-house playtesting (Prototype Warlord titan, Space Marine infantry and vehicles, eldar and ork infantry (BTW I suspect the same thing with the Battlewagon), untill production plastics were ready. |

Off-topic maybe, but I'd love to see pix of those prototypes! (although I've seen the Warlord v1a before). |
