Forgeworld have either outdone themselves or done something really really stupid. Take a look at these:
Epic Eldar
At least Forgeworld have started on something different from Imperials. Although, to me they do look a little stupid. Their is also a waveserpent in the works, based on the 40K FW one.
Cheers
Chris

I am dumbfounded. I can't beleive they have made something different. I see they are sticking with the old design. Slightly modified. Well I guess we'll see what they do. I assume this is one of those "get you by" peices we have heard so much about.

not sure if I like it or not
I do like the "crispness" of the resin model (much more like the 40K version) as compared to the metal Falcon... however I know I don't like the big web spinners on top....
at least it's not Imperial Guard....
Wonder when the Ork stuff is coming out...

Just checked the F/W Newsletter, great model of the Night Spinner (as usual) and I'm sure the upcoming Wave Serpents will be the same quality. ?And from the letter it sounds like they will do different versions of them, like the 3 versions of the Shadowsword. ?But as I have said many times before, how many versions of something do we (or the game) need ?,! ? The N/Spinner looks a lot like the E40K version I just finished a few months ago. (My production output stinks ! ) ?It appears everything F/W does in 40K scale they are doing in Epic !? I'm with Primarch on this one, there's a lot of "stuff" F/W could be doing instead of the 3rd, 4th or even 5th version of a model, but this time it's resin instead of metal. The 'Nids, & Chaos are the forgotten Armies. ?Tau & Kroot have some models that could be done in Epic, like that plucked chicken thing, the Gnarloc and the Tau Skyray. ?Even some Ork stuff, but I've been collecting since SM1 and the Orks (even the "cartoony" Orkzez!) have almost as much stuff as the IG !! ?And the only Epic IG model I really want to see them do is the Valkyrie. ? Not the 4th version of Shadowsword !! ?This if my favorite rant with these guys, but like a fool I usually buy them ! ? ?As we have all said, at least it's not another Guard vehicle !!!

*snip* Oh dear...
Out of the million things fans have asked for...
...why this?
*snip*
Because Forge World produced that particular version of the Night Spinner for Warhammer 40,000...
I for one am more than happy to see Forge World continue commissioning Epic 'versions' of models in their existing range and see no reason that they should change that policy.
Please bear in mind Forge World produce highly detailed models for a specific market, that generally being the serious collector/modeller who is looking for something a bit different to the standard Games Workshop metal or plastic releases.
I am sure in the fullness of time new versions of some OOP models will be produced, but in the meantime I look forward to the opportunity of bringing my Epic Eldar closer to the look of my 40K Eldar thanks to Forge World.
*snip* I wonder who makes the choices for which minis to make..... *snip*
The choices over what models to commission are made by Tony Cottrell, who is the head of Forge World Ltd. Hope that helps.
Regards Carl Woodrow

well that told us! but to be fair, i suppose we should be grateful that f/w are bringing some more epic out, but why have a questionarre about what you would like to see and, by what you say it doesnt matter as its in the hands of tony?
with the new epic:armageddon surely they would be pushing out orks and imperial/marine stuff, okay saying its more for the serious collector modelmaker, but well where else at the moment are we going to buy our mini armour? e-bay and its inflated prices?
i have bought fw stuff to play with as i presume most if not all on here have. not to have pretty dioramas. i suppose you cannot please all of the races all of the time, but well would be nice to have a little dropped into the bucket now and again

That is a very nice model. I must praise FW for that. I dont think I will bother replacing the previous metal versions I have though.
I hope FW have plans for improving the Ork line. I think they would get a great deal of business out of producing some quality Ork models, especially with the upcoming release of EpicA.
I was told that mailorder are selling off all there stock in March, and after that no more epic stuff will be available until the release. It could be that FW are going to hold off any Ork epic stuff until then too. Either that, or they aren't allowed to produce any because GW will be doing it.

Hi!
I realize that Imperials and such are the more popular armies, but jeez, how many IG tank variants do you really need?
Also as pointed out, there are some armies that DESPERATELY needs figs, chaos being my first pick. I dont mind them making figs for all armies sooner or later, but I find their choices dubious especially when players send in opinions on what models they prefer seeing. I know the net epic crew has made known to Jervis through some of our UK members what we'd like to see, web spinners wasn't one of them.
Also, why make resin models about figs that were/will be available in metal? I would prefer forgeworld to make stuff that for whatever reason will not be made in metal. A metal capitol imperialis may be a bit too much, but as a forgeworld project it should be okay.
Oh well, one needs much patience as an epic player these days

Jervis Johnson runs Specialist Games (formerly Fanatic). This is a separate business to Forge World, which is run by Tony. Although naturally the two work together to a degree (they do both occupy the same premises after all) they are completely separate businesses, not just different 'departments'.
In that respect Jervis is not the person to contact with regards to what Forge World do and do not produce. To support the release of Epic Armageddon Specialist Games will produce their own range of models, designed by their own in house sculptor (Mark Bedford) and other 'commissioned' sculptors from both outside and inside Games Workshop as a whole.
In the past there was only one source of Epic models; the Games Workshop Studio. When Epic Armageddon is released there will be two; Specialist Games and Forge World (The Studio has no involvement with Epic anymore, nor any of the other specialist games, just 40K, Warhammer and LotR).
The MAIN source of Epic models will be Specialist Games not Forge World. Think of Forge World as the "Directors Cut, special limited edition boxed set" DVD compared to the standard release DVD. Specialist Games is the latter. Most people only need (or want) to buy the standard edition, but there are always some who are prepared to pay a bit more for something 'special'. Forge World provide the 'something special'. The Night Spinner fits into that category being a higher detailed exact replica of their resin 40K version, it is not intended to replace the general releases.
Unfortunately as Epic Armageddon isn't out yet, there is a big shortfall in the availability of 'general' Epic models for existing players until it is released. New models are being made right now, in fact I have been looking at the new metal Land Raider and Land Speeder as I write this. ?
None of this has any bearing whatsoever on what Forge World are doing, nor should it. It is just unfortunate that they are 'currently' the only source of 'any' new Epic models right now and until Epic Armageddon is released you will just have to be a bit patient.
Also, why make resin models about figs that were/will be available in metal? I would prefer forgeworld to make stuff that for whatever reason will not be made in metal

Please refer to my comments above...
where else at the moment are we going to buy our mini armour? e-bay and its inflated prices?
Personally I would just wait until the new models are available again after release, but don't get me wrong, I do understand and fully sympathise with your predicament, its not ideal at the moment.
Oh well, one needs much patience as an epic player these days
Indeed!...but then patience is a virtue after all
Hope that helps clear up the confusion.
Best Regards
