Usually I like to have my aircraft stuck hard and fast to their flight stands, but I thought I'd give these magnetic adapters from Ninja Magic a go. They work really well and I will be using them for all my aircraft and spaceships from now on and I will also re-do those that are glued directly to flight stands. Easy storage and transport is a bonus but the main advantage with this for me in regards to Epic is the changeability between the flights stands for Epic and AI.

With the Thunderhawks magnetically attached to the flight stand, I can hold it upside down and shake it vigorously and it doesn't fall off.

It is also a handy system when representing landed aircraft.

:o

I have some but don't trust them nearly enough to do that!

I've seen them in person, and they're nice and strong. The only thing I don't like is the large plug that sticks out of the bottom of the model. I've magnetized my flying bases as well, but just by using regular rare-earth disc magnets mounted on the standard flying stands, and either magnets or nail heads in the model itself. The connection, especially the magnet-on-magnet action, is pretty strong, and works for most flyers.

On the other hand, the Forge World Thunderhawks and the GW Transport are big models - the saw tooth design of the Ninja Magic magnets probably help a lot with keeping a heavier model properly aligned.

I've bought the large back2base-ix acrylic bases. They are nice and strong enough to support the biggest BFG minis :)
