I ask as I've only got a pin vice so I find it very hard drilling anything bigger than 2mm in a model! :-X

You can just buy a hard tipped 3mm drill bit, almost all pin vice drills have just enough give on the biggest drill holder to be compatible with them.

Fantastic stuff! Agree with jimmy about the radioactive grass-hue, but that's really the only thing I can come up with.

Holy thread necromancy, Batman!

I seriously did not realize that it has been nearly two whole years (!) since I last posted here. While I still managed to paint, build, buy and actually play Epic, I did not manage to post here regulary. This is partly due to a weak playing performance and many private stuff happening (about which I am prett happy, nonetheless).

Back in 2016 I frantically painted up some Ultramarines for EEC. Shortly after, I moved to another town, which had zero interest in Epic. I decided to play something radically different next EEC and wanted to play Guard. But I finally wanted to play Air-Guard, so I painted up a metric ton of Valkyries and Vultures and did okayish in Denmark. Still, no Best Painted for my Guard, so I moved on to another, more excessive project - even more than the Ultramarines. So what is more excessive than tons of freehands? Tons of sculpting little 6mm buggers. Nurgle Chaos Marines converted from the CAD sculpts! I have successfully painted up roughly 4500 pts for now and will cease the project for now, moving on to the next: Battlefleet Gothic.
Interim I played in France (November 2017) and painted up Vindicators and a second squad of Space Marine Scouts. At the Wintermanöver I played Scions of Iron, so I painted up a Landing Craft, two Thunderhawk Transporters and another squad of Tacticals. Oh and 6 Land Raiders, because, reasons. After the tourney in France I was asked to paint up each troop type of the Codex army at least once, for the purpose of using the pictures in the new upcoming french army book - which I also did. To top off my Ultramarines I painted up a Stormeagle, as I used it in a development list tournament in Berlin.

So here is the list what I managed to paint:

Ultramarines
Image
2016: Fellblade
2017: 2 Thunderhawk Transporter with Rhinos, 4 Land Raiders, 2 Land Raider Crusader, 6 Tacticals, 4 Scouts with Sniper Rifles, 5 Rhinos, 4 Vindicators, 1 Landing Craft (E&C Pattern), 1 Stormeagle, 1 Land Speeder Storm, 2 MK IV Dreadnoughts
2018: Space Marine Captain Sicarius, 1 Bikes, 1 Attack Bike, 1 Predator Destructor, 1 Land Speeder Typhoon, 1 Land Speeder Tornado

Imperial Guard
Image
2017: 8 Stormtroopers, 8 Valkyries, 8 Vultures

Nurgle
Image
2018: 16 Chaos Space Marines (including a Sorceror and a Warlord stand), 4 Havocs (including a Sorceror), 4 Chosen, 7 Daemonic Beasts, 6 Plaguebearer, 1 Great Unclean One, 5 Chaos Terminators (incl. a stand with Mortarion), 2 Chaos Dreadnoughts, 1 Daemon Prince (no wings), Obliterator, 5 Defiler, 12 Chaos Rhinos, 4 Chaos Predator, 1 Chaos Land Raider. 3 Hellblade Fighters, 2 Helltalon, 2 Decimators, 1 Deathwheel, 1 Plaguelord Titan, 3 Objective Markers

Battlefleet Gothic
2018: 1 Styx Class Cruiser

I also painted around 15-20 Infinity miniatures which can be found on my blog (see link in my signature). if you are interested in the Nurgle army, there is a 10 page thread on a German forum, including more Work in Progress pictures here: https://www.tabletopwelt.de/index.php?/ ... und-mshrak
I hope you enjoy the pictures, bigger and more detailed views can be found on my blog as usual:
