I guess my biggest problem is the fact there is no edge to hold the ammo belt in.

[[[[[[[[[[|

Something like that, with a raised edge top and bottom.

Actually it will not matter anyways - the detail is so small you will barely notice it with the plain eye. Unless you are used to use magnifiers when handling your minis that is >:D

On a serious note: keep in mind that these 3D models are way bigger than what you will get once its finished...

Hm, I was trying to make something reminiscent of this, and didn't notice a lip.

Ahhh. If you look at that closely, there are links at the front and back of the belt to hold it together.
this picture shows better what it might look like.

Well it's not really a box. The box holding the ammunition is located at the inside of the "Riveter" ( = between Riveter and the Raubtiers hull) and from there there goes an ammo belt to the underside of the weapon.

Heya Black Legion, how are these things deployed in the chaos lists? In groups of 4, like the Armageddon SM list?

I may have to revisit my plans for this given Manchurian costs and other non-ordered activity on the board.

In companies of 4-8 vehicles that may be any combination of Raubtiers and Grundräubers.

How so? If it is a financial issue, I'm sure there would be enough interest to cover the initial printing and casting...

That being said, how much does something like this cost to get off the ground? :P

Somebody I know told me these numbers:

$20 for a blue
$60 for bronzing
$160 for metal mastering and production molds
$X sculpting agreement with original 3D designer

Do you know if the original designer get any rate reductions if s/he uses a lot of spin time? That's less then I expected, though still a significant chunk given it's all preproduction costs.
