Ok, so it has been many years since I have played epic, and with the Dark Eldar now having a list to work from I thought it a good time to come back. After many months of trying to decide where to start I began rummaging through my bits and the beginnings of a project started to form. So with great pleasure I present to you the beginnings of what will be the center piece of the army as I get started: a Tormentor Titan!

Ok, I will start with the original design ideas for the legs:

From the top:

Then I started to think of a new design for the legs to allow for more articulation:

One with the start of the upper torso:

And last but not least a size comparison with an Eldar Revenant:

As always C&C welcomed!

Nice start, but it seems a little large. It's only DC4 compared to the DC3 of the revenant.

Thanks Zombocom. That is why I decided to redo the legs. The new legs will be shorter overall and hopefully give the Tormentor the proper size.

What are the core and ball joints made of? Looks like a Planetary Empires bit and pushpin heads?

The core is the bottom of the piece that holds the dark lance on a 40K DE Raider. The balls are in fact push pins.I found some that are just the right size for this project.

One possibility for smaller legs, though you may not have them on hand, would be BFG DE upgrades. there are also some weapons pods that may work as arms. The only problem would be that you'd need four sets...

What you've built up looks awesome, and is very true to the Raiders cover art. :agree:

Ok, so I had a chance to work on my epic tormentor in the wee hours of the morning.

I am hoping to do some more work on the 40K scale Vessel of Pain in the coming weeks along with more work on the epic stuff.

Ok, a quick little update. Beside some needed GS'ing I just need to figure out what I will use for the jump jets on the back. I am using the back piece from a 40K Incubi as the upper part but need to find some thing for the lower parts.

I do worry it's a little too big. But it's impressive.

It's front right leg is at a very weird angle.

Fantastic job. The size looks fine to me, especially since I don't always equate size with DC.

Thank you. As for the angle of the leg, it is inspired by the artwork on the cover of Raiders so think of it as having just kicked something to the side. As for the size vs DC, I too feel that while it might be considered tall it is thin, especially in the legs.

Quick little update. I finally found bits that I like for the jump jets on the back of the tormentor.

Excellent use of Baneblade(?) Heavy Flamers. They're perfect. The Drazahar(avaranar...) backpack is a good fit too.
