After Tom gets back, I can pick up most of the rest of what I need to finish a decent-size Necron force. After that, I'm going to slowly assemble another army. I'm Chaotic at heart, but Krieg has much to offer, visually speaking.

So, which should I build (and why)? And what, aside from official Siege Masters (coughoverpricedcough) infantry, are people using for DKoK troops? And what of the Macharius? Any proxies for it and its variants? Same question for Chaos Land Raiders...?

Wow that's a tough choice, some of the models around now that are compatible to proxie the kreig list are really really nice (mmmmm cheese) but ive always liked the iron warriors. If it were me id probably go kreig as i dont have an IG army yet    

Ill be using the regular plastic guardsman for my DKoK, they were going to be converted but you need so amny stands i cant be bothered   . My Skitarii are basic guardsmen with hoods sculpted on.

I converted my chaos land raiders by using the dozer blade thing from the front of whirlwinds:

That is a tough one, personally I’m biased, since I’m already building an Iron Warriors army (and loving it!) using mainly the old Daemon Engines that are hard to come by these days, I also have some of those neat FW Hell Talons, Hell Blades and a Harbinger for that all important air superiority.

As for the Krieg they do have some really nice stuff available to them now too, mainly thanks to Evil and Chaos and Otterman. I can personally vouch for the quality, credit where credit is due. I just knew I had to build myself a Chaos renegade militia army when I first saw them.

Also, if you really can't wait, the soon to be released Mk2 Enforcer from Exodus Wars is about the right size next to a FW Super Heavy. It is going to require a bit more converting though.

Thanks for the responses, guys! Maybe I should do a Chaos Krieg army...   That actually sounds like a good idea, E&C/GG - make a renegade guard detachment modeled after DKoK, supported by a small IW contingent. I'll have some time to consider what to put in it (and save up some $$ to pay for it) while I paint my Necrons.

Both ...      And you should be able to get a Macharius or 2 or 3 etc. from Otterman later this year ...    All varients I'd reckon ...   And very nice(and simple) conversion Apoc !!
