Looking forward to seeing them finished.
So tempted to throw together an Iron Warriors list with all the tasty Non Ordered walkers around.

Well I got more done than I thought I would today.

Here I am making a hole to place a wire to support the Slaughterfiend towards the end of the project when I go to place it on a base:

Also holes to place wires to help support the Power Claws and Powerflails:

I had an original thought after I found this crappy bracelet in my wife's jewellrey box that the 3 threads made for perfect flails when cut up:

Not caring that it was a silver bracelet, I proceeded to cut it up, and the thought was to glue the 16Amp fuse wire along the bottom of it with some Super Glue to give it shape:

Something like this:

After all that work and using a spray to harden the superglue quickly, I ended up with something that would not work. No matter what I did, I was not going to save that part of the project....

So I ended up going with the 16Amp wire as the powerflail

I still have to greenstuff the model and cover things up, but this is how the rest came out:

Flail on one side and wire to support the arm on the other side

The one on the left has twin power flails

My favourite one is the one with the twin Power Claws (Centre Back)

I will now spend time sizing the Power Flails correctly and placing tips onto the ends of them. There is also a fair bit of Greenstuff work to do in order to properly secure the arms and other joints.

I will then work on getting the Bererker on top riding the Slaughterfiend with Chains - much the same as Apoc produced.

Looking great, heads up on the berserkers, if positioning on the top of the turret, behind the head, you might want to move the defiler head forward a bit (just snip the pin off) to make more space behind it.

Excellent progress FB!

I too wanted to do a chain inspired flail device, but at the end of all the fiddling, I couldn't seem to reconcile how it would be able to do anything given the size of the claws in front. That was why I settled for metal tentacles as I could imagine them whipping out and grasping stuff at the same time the claws were trimming toenails.

So you are planning on fielding one squad of six or two of three?

Cheers,

NOTE: The below may or may not be relevant depending on the outcome of the list(s) review happening at the moment

Dobbsy and I agreed on a Transport ability of '2' for these guys with Berserkers counting as 2 units.

So in effect, the Bloodpack will become 4 Berserkers and 4 Slaughterfiends while a Chosen unit of 4 will have 2 Slaughterfiends.

Hence the 6.

I really should have built 2 more, however trying to get 8 done in one go would have been a monster task. I will settle for 6 now and build the other 2 at a later time. That will then give me options of:

- 2 Bloodpacks
- 4 Chosen Slaughterfiend Riders
- 1 Bloodpack and 2 Chosen (slaughtefiend) units

I still have another 8 Defilers to build up after that again

As you can see, the Defiler engines will have a bing potential for showing within the list. Lucky for the opponents that they cannot Teleport or drop pod in   :)

Thanks for the heads up Apoc  :agree:

Did you cut the Base off the Berserker?

:glare: Well, not too excited about that change as I thought the formation sizes were fairly well set, i.e. I built to the existing pack size. Ok, I guess I'll have to go bother Otterman some more.

Any other changes impacting Blood Slaughterers, Brass Scorpions forthcoming? I'd like to know before I get too far down the line with them.

Cheers,

:glare: Well, not too excited about that change

I would say hold off with any buying as a decision on what units are in what lists is still being decided.

The sizes may not change. We just have to see what the outcome of the split of the lists is.

Hopefully it will not be too much longer. I am doing the best I can from my end.

Apoc and yourself are both effectd, so I will most likely be campaigning for the old Transport: 2 rule to stay. Afterall, that is what it has been tested at and found to be balanced for the costs. It also assists with the transport options available.

So unless you are like me and do not mind extra models, I would not do anything at this stage.

Cheers,

I do not see any forthcoming changes with these units.

Regarding the Brass Scorpions: I may settle on one type or keep both as an option.

Let us get the two lists separated first and then I will be able to discuss openly. It would not be appropriate to kepp talking about 'maybe' situations till Steve advises the lists and restrictions proper.

OK. Time to pick this one up again.

I was not happy with the power flails as they stood as they looked to thin tio me. I wanted more 'meat' to the mini so I went looking for ideas for arms. I came across the below:

Left to Right: Petite Crabbe Arm, Mechanical Arm from Eureka Minis, An NSL frigate from GZG Full Thrust game

First off, I committed sacrilege and cut the petite arm

This is what I intended on connecting the flails to:
