I use titebond wood glue for all my basing, once it dries it doesn't unglue, perhaps trying that would save you the priming step?

It might. I dilute my glue for basing with water to get an appropriate consistancy, is that possible with titebond? I also like that I don't destroy my brushes with PVA, but that can be worked around.

Any comments or suggestions on the scheme?

Well i use undiluted titbond on the bottom when i add the sand, then after that dries i used watered titebond on top. I have used the same brush for a long time, i paint my miniature with it as well :/

I like your scheme, only thing that i would maybe do is hit the joins and inside the knees with boltgun. But thats debatable I think everything looks pretty good honestly. Perhaps use a different color on the edge of your bases, that brown gives it a really muddy feel.

Actually, I was talking about the terrain scheme... I tend to try to keep metals off my 'high-tech' armies, but I'll take a second look.

Got some comparison shots of the new OTC from Onslaught.

I also jigsawed the hell out of 24 ft2 of hardboard yesterday, so I have all the bases for the terrain project cut, though beveling the edges will take a bit...

Things I've been up to for the pat few years, part 1.

Blitzkrieg Commander Paras. Just over a Battalion complete.

Bolt Action Paras, about 1/3 done.

3D printing project.

I also finished my Warmaster Ancients Early Imperial Romans, and am in the midst of painting Carthaginians for a friend. Pics of these later.

Other than these, things X-Wing, Armada, a succession of board games, and Magic have dominated my gaming time. As a group we appear to be swinging back towards minis somewhat, but really my mini time is limited.

OMG :o
You're back! Really like the Homo Sapiens duplication with random trait selection project you've got there. They're frustrating and oh so much fun. Should hit us up on vassal for some games of Armada and/or Epic sometime.

Hopfully this is the first of many updates to come

Ha ha 3D printing, I love it!

Great work and lovely seeing some WW2 as well. My club plays Blitzkrieg Command II in 10mm mostly, Rapid Fire in 15mm/20mm.

Thanks guys! I can't say how regularly I'll check in, but I'll try to make it more often. I'll at least be lurking on a regular basis I'd think.

So, on to part two, the Baccus installment:

My Early Imperial Romans are chronicled elsewhere, I think, but here is the finished product: all 13 units (847 men).

I agreed to paint a ri ends Carthaginians because it was that or let my just completed Romans gather dust. My sporadic painting means they still are, but with a possibility of parole.

Wonderful, but stop it, please. I do NOT need a Roman 6mm army to go with my Epic and WW2 ones :-)

Hi!

Simply beautiful!

The irony is I have those very same forces bought many years ago. They still sit somewhere unpainted. :(
