Amazing what you can do, with a few atmospheres of pressure.

Your own design or are you demonstrating what forgeworld achieve in their workshop? :)

I'm noting that I'm probably going to start experimenting with making some CAD infantry models at some point in the near future, now that I know that I can replicate really tiny models perfectly.

Hooray! I take it no one was killed by any inconveniently exploding pressure chambers?

Now that is impressive. *fingers crossed for Tyranid Warriors!*  :agree:

Is there a way to save on resin wastage with the massive flash lump at the bottom?

Not as of yet. :)

Yes I reckon it could be done more efficiently.

Very impressive !

What kind of apparatus do you employ ? I'm definitely interested in this lot of detail you can achieve for resin casting (some discussion occured in the BFG section about the investment feasable for resin casting). Via PM if you prefer.

A macro shot maybe to see how clean the detail is?
A friend tried casting some resin infantry all onto one base recently and I wasn't won over due ot the lack of detail.

I'll see about priming a cast, then running a black wash over it.

To my eye at least it looks like a perfect replica, with no bubbles or flaws.

Is that a copy of the multi-part Marine?

Yes.

It was made purely as a feasability study and I will not be distributing copies.

My next step will be to make a multi-part 'heavy armour' infantry model using CAD, and see if I can replicate it.

If you are going the CAD route (as you have stated), You could just go ahead and include the casting channels in the printed part. You have to know ahead of time where they need to be, of course, but there's always something.

I wasn't asking for the sake of distribution. I was asking because I'm truly impressed that you were able to do it.  :sign1:

Yeah but any time I post a thread showing something I've done, I get lots of PM's.

This is a time that I do not want PM's however. I am happy to pass out a few of my scratchbuilds to friends, but am not happy doing recasting of other people's models, even of OOP, never-to-be-released again models.

Maybe I'll make some models I would be happy passing on.
