This is my Ork buggy for my first post here. Also happens to be the first model I've done for this army. We've played test games but we don't have all the models yet, working on it though. I think this is the first Epic model I've painted since a brief period right when Epic 40K was released.

One close up, two others farther away:

I've always liked the smaller scales and I'm lovin playing Epic again. :)

Very nice.  The flames in particular are delicious.

Actually, let me go a step further. When I saw the first pic, I thought this was a 40K scale vehicle. I think you did an awesome job on it!

The only downside I can see is that you have to do what...30 more just like it for your buggy mob?

I'm laughing because my youngest is starting his Ork army and he's more interested in really big mobs right now and I can foresee a lot of red paint flying around here in the near future.

Ooh very nice! Welcome to the forums Matt!

You should consider entering something in EpicComp you know (it's a yearly epic painting competition here, with the approaching deadline for entries on the 30th of November)

Is the base thing something for the photo btw? Or something to hold the model while you paint it?

Hey folks, thanks for the replies!  :grinning:  I just got in more stuff, so as soon as I get some stands for the infantry I'll really be able to get rolling.
The display stand deal is actually just a Chessex dice container. I did use it to hold onto while painting, and decided to paint it all the way black as the model was painted for a local painting competition. Since it was the only non-28mm scale model being entered I wanted it to be raised up a bit. I'll take a look at the comp here and see what I can do.

Outstanding paint job and good attention to detail!  The shading & colors really make the model stand out. :agree:

The base looks great as well. What grass did you use?

Slightly OT, but does anyone else wonder how they missed sculpting the Ork heads on the E40K wartraks/buggies/scorchas? :glare:

Thanks. :)

The grass is Woodland Scenics Burnt Grass. I wanted a dry scrub/waste look to the bases...plus I have a rather large supply of this grass.  :p

I also noticed the heads, this model was painted first specifically because it has a head on the gunner!

Your close-up looks ridiculously good. You are most welcome to share your efforts with us.
