I'm vaguely thinking of matter printing a zombie-robot obelisk, but of course this is a non-canon unit with little to go on design wise. I've got a couple of ideas, but I'm not really set on one idea yet. This is my first idea, roughly sketched out: http://www.electronicliberationfront.co.cc/epic/ob1.jpg http://www.electronicliberationfront.co.cc/epic/ob2.jpg http://www.electronicliberationfront.co.cc/epic/ob3.jpg http://www.electronicliberationfront.co.cc/epic/ob4.jpg http://www.electronicliberationfront.co.cc/epic/ob5.jpg http://www.electronicliberationfront.co.cc/epic/ob6.jpg As you can see, this is roughly speaking a mono with the middle chopped out. The other design I like is the one Bell of Lost Souls made for 40k: http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_JsKZ1Y....nal.JPG Thoughts, ideas, inspirational pictures? |

looking good so far but i personally think maybe a different design. the obelisks that snotgun was making way back are nice. that's what i've been using. they were triangular. it made them more distinct rather then a shorter monolith. |

Id also preffer somthing that looks different in itself rather than a 'squashed obelisk' look ![]() Interesting it seems BoLS managed to build an xbox case...i definitely prefer your version over that! |

You so know these are going to sell like hotcakes if they were ever made... |

Eh, I dunno, Zombo. I have never been very hip on the four-sided obelisk concept. I think the Snotgun / Mr. Stoppe design is better. |

Obelisk - n., A tall, four-sided shaft of stone, usually tapered and monolithic, that rises to a pointed pyramidal top. My feeling is that all these Obelisks are too short and flat... the name "obelisk" would seem to indicate tall and thin. Your's looks good Zombo, but it's still "short". |

Chroma: Yeah, that inconsistency has bothered me before too. I may try a tall design. But then again, a Monolith doesn't look anything like a real monolith... |

YEah. But a pretty advanced one. The artificial camera depth of field is pretty fancy. Not sure about this. The triangular Obelisk is pretty cool, but a further gubbinized version of your four sided version could certainly work too. I'd like to see what people come up with for a tall design, but overall I'm not too keen on the idea. Sure Necrons have access to some advanced technology, but a relatively low design just seems so much more sensible to me ![]() |
