Looking through my old bits boxI have found metal dreadnoughts, robots, marines, jet bikes, tarantulas etc from way back when.  Does anyone know exactly how many metal models of this size (i.e. non vehicle) GW made? Pictures?

Thanks

minitj

I assume you mean types of model and not the production figures :D

From memory the AT era models were something like this:

Marines:
Jetbike
biker with sword
land speeder
mole mortar
tarentula
rapier
thudd gun
a number of differently posed marines (including heavy weapons and sergeants)
something like 4 or 5 dreadnought variants
also somthing like 4-5 robot varians

Eldar:
aspect warrior
guardian with heavy weapon
regular guardian
guardian with targetting equipment
anti grav platform with lascannon
jetbike

Orks:
Small bike
wartrack
mekboy
Heavy bolter field artillery (later remade into the hopsplat gun)

Now I also believe there were metal versions of the Mk 1 falcon and skull battlewagon, but I've never been able to confirm this. I base this solely on pics from Codex Titanicus where these vehicles look a bit different than the plastic versions. It makes sense that there'd have been some metal models made for inhouse testing similar to the prototype Warlord titan.

Yes, those are from SM1 era.  They were Rapiers, Thud Guns, Mortars, Jet bikes, Land Speeders, Taratulas, 4 Dreadnaught types & 5 Robot types plus about 8-10 Marine types ... I could post pics later.  Or I could take them off your hands with Paypal ?!  :vD   Let me know !  8v)

These old metals are unsafe to handle.  Please ship them to me for proper disposal.  :D

Old minis = heresy.

Those minis look nothing like the current lines and are/were obviously produced to create confusion.  Jetbikes & robots never existed in 40K and these models are proof of evildoers with a malicious agenda...

I never saw the lead Ork battlewagons hit stateside and I did look for them at the time.  Probably unreleased like the Mk.0 Warlords etc.

For those of you with White Dwarf 116, take a look at the back cover - Looks like there were some metal Ork infantry produced as well. And those battlewagons in that picture look slightly different to the plastic ones.

Edit!

Took a photo for those who don't have the issue. Closeup of battlewagons:

Good call on the infantry. Apart from the Mekboy/Runtherder (whatever) I've never seen the ork Infantry released. I'm guessing the plastic Ork infantry and battlewagon spure were ready in time. And yeah: That's the picture I was thinkig of with the weird battlewagons too.
I'll see if I can dig out the pic with the weird looking Falcons as well.
