I think the issue that me and DS are adressing isn't so much the design aesthetics (as these tie in very well with each other) but rather that feel which makes each Titan class distinctive. The best way I can explain it is using the weapon hardpoints as something that defines the basic visual shape. The Warhound has two weapon and has traditionally had sort of an "T" shape in frontal view. The Reaver has three hardpoints and always looked sort of triangular or "A" shaped to me. The Warlord with its 4 hardpoints were more of an "H" shape. I guess what I mean is that with the very small shoulder hardpoints the overall appearance is still more "A" shaped than "H" shaped to my eyes. Of course adding weapons will help a lot, but the carapace still has some Reaver slimness to it where the WArlords traditionally have been somewhat bulkier.
Warlords have usually been more humanoid and flat compared the the long stretched carapace of the Reaver which may also add to the impression.

...But again it is difficult to judge too much at this early stage of the project :)

Exactly! Thank you, Warmaster. You've managed to describe my thoughts, which I was having a hard time putting into words.

A lolcat is a photograph of a cat (or occasionally some other animal), along with a caption that features appalling grammar and spelling for supposedly humorous effect.

See http://icanhascheezburger.com/ for far more examples than you could ever need or want.

So, Moronghul is implying my spelling and/or grammar is appalling?

I don't think so. Just that looking at too many lolcats will destroy one's ability to articulate one's thoughts properly.

Crikey!  Nope, Warmaster Nice has a lolcat for his profile pic!  Although I like the different interpretation of the meaning too.

Is there one aspect in particular that screams Reaver to you Dwarf Supreme?

Yes, the carapace.

I originally thought this was supposed to be a reaver, too.

I think it's that the head is too far forward.

Both the warhound and reaver look like they are hunched over, where as the warlord has had a move 'standing-up-straight' look too it (at least since the Mk 2, anyway).

From a real-world POV, the bigger things get (animals, buildings) the more they tend to have most of their upper structure well within the area of their 'footprint.' This help prevent overturning.

I think that the progression from warhound to warlord should follow that cartoon of evolution where there's a chimp, then an australopithecus, then a neandertal, then finally a modern human, all standing in a line. Each creature is less hunched over and is slightly taller than the last.

Bear in mind that in returning to the Mars aesthetic, Jonluke is returning somewhat to the hunched style of the mk1 beetleback model.

Sure.

I hope I don't come across as overly critical. It is certainly not meant that way. Just throwing out random thoughts and gut feelings. Some of it may have merit. Some may not. I just thought I might as well post it if it can  help make an already amazing model even better :)

You still want to see truescale 10mm titans when this is truescale 6mm?
