![]() Well, I was planning to try chaos aircraft first, but GlynGs set of AI modle measurements was so extensive I got distracted by the Thunderbolt, so here it is. More panel/rivet details should clearly be added, but that will have to wait till the second one. I made it to be fast to build rather than accurate - the fuselage is just 9 layers of 1mm plastic stuck together, the cockpit also seems rather far back. I hope to do a few more over the next week, maybe a lightning next. ![]() Work in progress and scale: ![]() |

Woah, that is really awesome. Can I ask why? Is it to save costs or just to see if you could? -Moronguhl |

Quote: (Moronguhl @ 01 Jul. 2009, 12:48 ) Can I ask why? Is it to save costs or just to see if you could? A mix of both really, it looked like an easy shape to make. I don’t have any *proper* imperial aircraft at all( just 1 scratch built thunderhawk I gave up on ages ago), so needed to do something , if I brought them id want FW ![]() ![]() I think the heat may be getting to me as im actually considering painting it... |

Quote: (The_Real_Chris @ 01 Jul. 2009, 19:31 ) Hmm, CAD or a random pile of sprues and a knife? ![]() For this I drew out key shapes like the wings and main fuselage sections in adobe illustrator, then spray mounted them on plastic. Then I added sprue and other parts etc, so a mix of both. how have you been bending the rod and gettin it to keep shape? i.e the engine tubes? Yes, its just small length of 0.8 or 0.6 mm rod (I forget which) bent around a small metal rod then cut to shape. Next up is a trio of hellblades – it was going to be a lightening, but FW have the schematics for the hellblade on one of the AI sample book pages on their site, so...  ![]() |
