After all the frankly breathtaking models that have been appearing here over the years, I've been inspired to start posting (a most likely infrequent) log of assorted Epic goodness!

I've been recently refurbishing (re: stripping and cleaning up) old models as well as grabbing some new stuff.

My first test pieces:

Manticore Detachment:

Inspired by how they came out (and a new love for basing vehicles as well as a snow scheme) I experimented with some infantry:

Cheers demonkin

Finished some sentinels:

I enjoyed painting these. They were quite simple. I tried a few experiments with weathering that didn't turn out quite right. I attemped to give the impression of oil and grease around the joints and some streaky rust stains left by the rain and snow. Although I was quite pleased about the greasy look of the joints, I'm still struggling to get the right look with the rust streaks and the accumilation of mud around the feet.

Anyone got any tips?

Love the heads sticking out of the Sentinels, very nice touch.

Fantastic start. Marvellous details on the infantry and the sentinels. The heads popping up really made me smile. I really like the old Manticore as well.

I want to hug the Sentinels. Gently, of course.

Very well done! Good basing is often the thing that makes epic minis look good, and youve got that part covered really well.

Only thing Im missing here is to see youre part-snow-covered scenic gaming board  :))

Parzval: unfortunately, I've not got a snow colour gaming board - just some old green felt. I do have plans to put one together however.

I did mention something about Eldar when I started this thread. So as promised, my first Iyanden wraithguard unit. Decided to use something different as a backdrop. The bright green felt didn't quite work right!

A long overdue update! Unfortunately for me, I paint rather sporadically and on occasion won't pick up a brush for months. Anyway, I have managed to finish some Eldar Guardians:

After I finished these I didn't feel like painting more Eldar and decided to experiment with some spare Space Marines I had kicking about. My choice of Chapter was the result of looking at some old photos of my Mmniatures I had that I sold off. I noticed a solitary test piece I did years ago for the Storm Lords, a White Scars successor chapter. Liking the colour scheme, I decided to give it a go:

I enjoyed painting this unit and think I may paint up a few more units.

Great stuff Zedmeister!

I once painted 3000pts of Storn Lords for a freind (wish I'd taken some photos... ).
It's a very effective paintschemes, well done mate.
Keep it up.
:agree:

Cheers,
Steve.

Another update to my random log of painted Epic goodness. I recently aquired this gem of a Titan off of ebay at a bargin price. It started out as a half poorly painted Legio Metallica Titan. I stripped it back and decided to paint this in the scheme of my own favourites, Legio Astorum:

Base and lower back view:

I've grown to like this model quite a lot and I think the name it's acquired "da milk float" is a bit unfair. I'll refer to my one as a Metalicus pattern Warlord!
