It was recently suggested that the epic community starts getting some of it's painting endeavours out and about on the web a bit more; one such suggestion was onto voting websites such as CooMiniOrNotDOTwhatever...
So; my proposal is that we start uploading as many of our best efforts as we can; Scream, WMN and Onyx should be on there for sure and i've got a few things to contributs; not to mention the countless other pictures of great looking armies that keep turning up from taccomms and tourneys.
So; c'mon chaps; tell us what you've posted ;-)

I reckon we definitely should! Show the disbelievers and not-used-to-seeing-epic-model-ers you can do cool things with them. In a similar but different way to Groover's articles it could possibly inspire some to maybe have a go themselves.

Some of us already have some on CoolMiniorNot but the more the merrier. I've had models on there from years back and plan to upload more once I get back into painting again. I'll probably go back and take down and re-upload newer photos of some of my old models too; now that I've actually read some photography articles, got a lamp, now how to use levels command fix a too dark photo, etc.

Links to a few of mine: Guard Vulture, Looted Ork Rhino, Converted Raven Guard Terminators, Solar Guard Land Raider.

Warning mind: the votes and comments can be harsh on there sometimes! (you're sharing website with Golden Demon winning models and the best painters in the world, though there's a wide range and the average is not that high) And unless it's made obvious with something in the photo to scale it, the casual viewer/voter might not realise how small they are. My suggestion would be to have something in the photo(s) to scale it e.g. a coin (though other parts of the world may not know how big that coin it would be) or a, preferably unpainted, familiar other 28mm model e.g. a plastic W40k marine.

The upload needs to be one file, but it can either be one straight photo or a number of photos/angles stiched together. There's a maximum width limit (600pixels), beyond which things get compressed down to anyway, but photos can be as long as you like (though not more than 100kb in all). Hence if you've got a great camera / photo, and particularly if you want to photo something wide or a unit, then it might be better to include a second photo below the first with the scaling thing in, as opposed to having the scaling thing next to them, which would lower the width/resolution for the important bit.

We could possibly also briefly promote / enthuse about EpicA / Tac Com in the description too, though best just brief, and mostly have the writing talk about the model. I used to have a link to the Specialist Games site on my epic uploads, though those no longer work and I should change them.

Edited to add: their forums are also excellent for painting tips, and their painting and photography articles are great.

That's a good idea, there's nowhere near enough Epic on CMON.

I did a few test posts of some of my IG and AMTL stuff on CMON to see how different things went over a while back and I think you must have something in the picture to denote scale because simply putting it in the title or comments isn't enough.

If people post stuff up there maybe put link(s) to it here? (once you've got one you can select to view all that persons photos)

Mine is:

You definitely need to be prepared for some harsh ratings before posting on CMON though.  It doesn't exactly have the positive supporting environment I have grown to love on these boards.

My highest ever CMON score is 6.9 and I don't actually think that it is one of my better miniatures (a BFG space hulk which probably just gets the interesting vote).

Some of the things I would consider personal bests have been lucky to get a 6.

The scoring definitely seems to be inconsistent as I have seen similar standard models with hugely different scores even though both had large numbers of voters.

Hm. I think I had a few models on there some years ago... I can't remember my password for the death of me, but I'll see if I can dig out some pics...and create a new account if necessary.

Also keep in mind that a healthy portion of your ranking is going to depend on your ability with a camera/photoshop.  That being said, there is some great info & tips on taking pictures of minis.

Haven't used my CMoN account for a couple of years but this could be fun!

I'll try and prepare some better pictures of the latest finished models.

OK. I've added a few new pics to the old ones seen here:
http://www.coolminiornot.com/artist/Warmaster+Nice
The new pics should be available soon and include FW Grey Knights, Lucius Imperator, Zeppelin, Eldar titans, Sguiggoth and Typhus.
