Hi all,

Even though my own efforts are totally humbled by the sheer awesome quality of all the models and project I've seen here, I thought it was only fair I showed something of my own.

Even if it is like bringing the 4 pack of 27p Tesco value brand lager to a houseparty and then drinking somebody elses expensive imported german dark lager.

So here we have my cheaper than cheap stompas based around a thimble for shape with whatever tok my fancy welded onto them with probably a little too much gusto as I'm fairly sure they're larger than your average stompa. Either way they were a nice distraction to make and cost less than a quid which is handy for me as I'm planning to knock together another 10 or so (or until my imagination gives in and I can't think of a way of making the next one look unique)

I'll put up these even though they are WIP with the intention of replacing them fairly soon with painted versions, and hopefuly with better taken pictures, don't know what I'm doing with the flash but it's picking up all kinds of funny things.

Thanks for all the inspiration guys

Phil

Those look pretty nifty, but your pics seem washed out so I can't make out much detail in the plasticard.

They look good! Why even bother with the thimble? It looks like you got the skill to build those even without it.

They look really good, i've been looking for a way to make some decent looking stompers myself and the use of a thimble for a base is just a stroke of genius. :)

This really is a stroke of genius. :agree: Consider the idea stolen if I ever make a Gargant Big Mob with Stompas.

Yep; good stuff going on there! If possible use the "[img]" tool that the forum has and then pictures will appear within the post as opposed to small thumbnails :-)
What's the colour shceme plan?

As with everything so far I'm pretty much going to make it up as I go along.

I'm just finnishing off a third now so I reckon I'll start painting later this afternoon.

Ok guys well here's my first attempt (ever) at painting an ork machine.

I found this guide pretty useful, worth a read but I dipped in and out when applying processes

I've only done the one for now but rather than spam this thread with loads of pics I'll hold off until I've got a bunch done (At which time my painting skills may finally be worthy of this board   )

Anyways here goes, at the least it should provide you guys with a better idea of the general shape.

Looks great  :agree: More Orky and distinctive than the official Stompas!

For future photos you might be better to crop the photos to focus them in on the model more and loose the excess white background, work of a moment to do so in Photoshop or any old graphics program.
