Ladies and gents I am in the need of some assistance in completing my next project. I have spoken to the O'man about producing and airframe for my chaos army that is for all intense and purposes a Stormbird. I have sent him some pictures from the original Titanicus rules. However these are not enough for him to go by, I am looking for a budding artist or someone with good tech drawing skills to assist with creating side profiles and a top down and bottom view to assist.

Anyone who can help drop me a line and we can chat and hopefully come up with something.

I don't think that theres ever been any real artwork for them, sorry (I think there might be one really old piece of artwork with ultramarine assault marines jumping out of one?)... The model Bob produced is just called "Imperial Lander" I think, and it just a generic Imperial dropship, rather than being marine only.

Theres also an older piece of artwork for space wolves which has land raiders disembarking from a thunderhawk - maybe you could just reengineer the thunderhawk, and make it bigger and badder?

Check the Horus Heresy stuff or ask someone who knows about it, if there was ever a picture of one? Thought the Stormbird was a new vehicle invented more recently around the time they did the CCG and that.

Thanks for all the comments so far, I have that picture depicting the Ultramarines jumping from the front. That is what I am basing the design on, from there I am thinking of essentially a larger version of a Valk, with enginse similar to a Thunderhawk.

Yes ... the Imperial Dropship that Bob Naismith made years ago for G/W was just that ... an Imperial Dropship based on the CT rules supplement ...  And as we know was never made.  However the Stormbird is something different. A bigger version of the T-hawk, IIRC. And was not a G/W generated idea. But  was a machination of one of the authors that writes books based G/W 40K fluff ... IIRC.  BUT I'd like to see a good concept drawing, hopefully followed by a model ...

Yeah if I was to make or buy a Stormbird I'd want it done properly to look current marine design like, not just something based off an ancient out of date bit of artwork myself.

Pos google up some Horus Heresy collectable cardgame forums and ask the people there who'd know if there ever was any artwork featuring them there? Would seem a better base for the model IMO.

Is it the dropship from this pic (unfortunately this is a crop so the actual ship isn't visible)?



I suppose I could sketch up something like that in the same way I do the EW stuff.

There is no picture of the Stormbird. Only descriptions throughout several Horus Heresy novels.

Good call. Also with a lot of the Horus Heresy books yet to come it's always possible they may draw one in future even if they've not already.

Hmm...I don't remember seeing anything in Collected Visions. Perhaps the new design on the front cover of the new IG codex might be something to look at?
