I've recently had some more spare time on my hands and have been hit by epic fever. I've always had a soft spot for epic ever since seeing the brightly coloured models in white dwarf years ago as a kid ![]() So I tend to go for retro colour schemes, and having a bunch of titans laying around I thought this would be a good place to start. I've gone for a Legio Metallica scheme, which is eye catching and I suppose not as popular as it once was (forgeworld has done alot to make popular the older legions, like the war griffons). Hopefully over the coming months I'll put together some tech guard and a few other odds and ends. I'm even tempted to go for the crazy space marine era colour schemes (blue and white chimeras)! Onto WIP pics... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Hopefully I'll get around to producing an A4 sized custom transfer sheet in corel draw - which is why they look abit plain at the moment. If anyone knows of any pics on the intarweb that I could use as a resource for these transfers I'd be grateful. Likewise, any criticisms or suggestions would be useful! |

These look great. Very clean and crisp, especially with the lines and checker board. If you are looking for transfers/decals, go to Bell of Lost Souls: http://www.belloflostsouls.net/2007/05/ ... sheet.html |

These look absolutely stunning! If they're WIP what more do you intend to do to them? |

Cheers for the kind words guys ![]() I still need to add more shading to the red I think, along with stronger highlights... and the eyes... and the bases... ![]() New camera is needed too, along with another lamp so I can get a decent photo-taking setup... Hmmm, I forgot about BoLS stuff. I feel some plagiarism coming on ![]() PS - does anyone know whats going on with the topic title? I made abit of a typo when I started the thread (doing too many things at once), and corrected it, but when I go back to the main forum the old title is still there. Weird. I guess it'll sort its self out eventually... |

Markconz - the banners are from the 40k Dark Angels Ravenwing sprue. I thought they'd be perfect for titans. The banners on the arms of the warhounds are from the tactical marine sprue. |

Cheers for the comments guys - positive comments keeps morale up, which keeps me doing work ![]() Killerloop - I always wondered where the shells come from for titan weapons. Sure volcano cannons are powered by the reactor but everything else? Hmmmm. The forgeworld warhounds have ammo hoppers and hydrogen fuel flasks for their weapons, so I figured I'd stick some on the gatling blasters. If you're wondering, they came from the Dark Angels Ravenwing sprue (assault cannon drums - they're meant for the master of the ravenwing as they're paired, left and right, which helped alot)! I was tempted to use the imperial guard autocannon ammo drum for the quake cannon, but didn't get around to it.. Oman - yes, I am evilhomer. Definately one of the better simpsons episodes out there... ![]() After an hour or so listening to the total annihilation soundtrack, I managed to come up with an adeptus titanicus symbol I'm happy with (for the transfers). Heres a taster: ![]() The sheet I've got in corel draw currently has has about 10 or so variations on this which takes up about 1/4 of a sheet of A4. I've also done a bunch of checks because I can't be bothered doing them again (I was getting sloppy on the warlord). I think it gets harder from here on though, as I want to do a load of various "heraldic" bits I can use to individualise each titan (well, warlord/reaver), in the same way as forgeworld has done with the warp runners reaver titan (the kneepad)... |

A packaged arrived today while I was at work, from across the great pond, from the far off land known as "the colonies", specifically a place in the south noted for its interesting choice in music and large reserves of beef and oil. Although the postman who delivered the package destroyed my cat-flap in an effort to get the package into my house, the precciousss cargo remained intact.... ![]() Ho ho ho. Seriously though, these models are really fantastic. Having a large horde of various small scale models I can say these are genuinely top notch and are ahead of most companies out there (maybe on par with GHQ). They piss all over specialist games tanks anyway. I am very surprised with the level of detail on them, which in parts surpasses forgeworlds own models - I'll take some better pics at a later date and provide a bunch of comparison pics with forgeworld tanks so you can see what I mean. I know I'm coming across as fawning over otterman, but yes they really are that good! ![]() A company of tankettes patiently await something to tow: ![]() |
