Ive been doing a little bit of work on my Chaos Black legion in between painting some 40K Tau for a mate, I thought I'd put it up to show how its going ATM.

I chose to go with a dark blue and black wash rather than the normal Grays and black washes, as I was hoping for something a bit different to the other Black army that I have, the Black Templar.

This is only the first stage of a much larger army and you must forgive some of the figures. The use of normal space marines was to give the army a bit of a fallen feel, as if some of the marines were still in their old armour.

The Obliterators/ Termies is just a mistake on my part, I made up the Termies as Obliterators not realizing that chosen were Termies, my chosen are a full squad of normal Marines without the normal SM's  :shutup:  :vo  :sulk:

Looking very nice indeed Drew, they appear alot bluer through ther lense than they did in person. Maybe it was the light in the dungeon that made them look darker. Very cool, cant wait to see them side by side with my IW reaping an Imperial harvast.

Good stuff; nice and neat and the freehand is really well done too! You've made the old dreadnoughts look quite good as well!

Beautiful looking Black Legion Cthulu_G, the blue-black looks great, have you got a recipe for this as I'm quite tempted to use it in the future? All the freehand details look so crisply painted, I love the use of normal marines amongst the chaos marines, very characterful and it really helps to emphasise the red plumes on the chaos marine heads. I hope there are more of these in the offing :)
