I painted this guy for a laugh to go with my Ad-Mech Skitarii army.

The tartan scheme is the colours of Clan Kerr, my ancestral Scottish clan.

Clearly there needs to be a "black watch" Titan Legion... maybe it'd help solve the overpopulation of 19th century lead scotsmen.

Origins of the Clan
The great Clan Kerr is well remembered in Scotland as one of the most loyal but warlike Clans of the turbulent Border territories. The Kerrs arrived in Britain after William I's conquest of England in 1066, and the Clan Kerr descend from two brothers, Ralph and John Ker, who settled in Jedburgh around 1330. The Clan soon grew and prospered, building themselves a position of influence through their sheer strength and tenacity. The Clan Kerr controlled two castles on the border with England, and were quick to fend off any intrusion by the Southerners, but were not indisposed to a quick venture across the divide whenever they fancied some prime English beef for their tables. Rival Scottish border clans included Clan Heron and Clan Scott.

I imagine the Princeps as something like Groundskeeper Willy, yelling at his tiny enemies in a broad Scottish accent.  :))

I tried finding something clever about Groundskeeper Willie to post from the net...  :sus: ...man, you really have to be careful just what words you use for net searching.

Also having a Scottish heritage (our surname is Marr), I have to say I love this mate.
Very cool theme and nicely painted.

Is he going to have any smaller cousins?

Currently he forms the centrepiece to my Skitarii army from Forgeworld Kerr.

I have to say I'm tempted to do some more Titans in that style!

Awa', man!  A fellow reiver! :))

For over 350 years up to the end of the 16th century what are now Northumberland, Cumbria, The Scottish Borders, Dumfries and Galloway rang to the clash of steel and the thunder of hooves. Robbery and blackmail were everyday professions, raiding, arson, kidnapping, murder and extortion an accepted part of the social system. While the monarchs of England and Scotland ruled the comparatively secure hearts of their kingdoms, the narrow hill land between was dominated by the lance and the sword. The tribal leaders from their towers, the broken men and outlaws of the mosses, the ordinary peasants of the valleys, in their own phrase, 'shook loose the Border'. They continued to shake it as long as it was political reality, practising systematic robbery and destruction on each other. History has christened them the Border Reivers. They gave the words "blackmail" and "bereaved" to the English language. The stamp of the Reivers is still to be seen on the Border Lands - in it's architecture, culture and people. From the secretive fortified towns and farms to names that once struck fear into men's hearts - Armstrongs, Grahams, Kerrs, Nixons, Robsons, Beatties - the legacy of the Reivers remains.

Beattie, meself. (If I get round to painting [and finishing] my knights, you'll see that Argent and Sable on them)

On-topic: nice work!  I particularly like how you've done the highlights.  There's a 'burning' impression that suits the warlord nicely, IMO.
