Okay, so along with my on going Chaos project I inherited the start of an OGBM army that I'm now finally going to start work on, new paint jobs & units etc.

However the thing that bugging me is that I can't make up my sodding mind on what I want the Gagants to look like.

Sooooooo, I thought I'd ask you lot to "Whip yer Gargants aaaht!" in aid of me settling on a colour scheme for the army.

Cheers

First of all, do you want them to be the same clan or not? If you want a single clan, what floats your boat?

...Well, initially I thought about the clan colours but then I saw a colour illustration of a green Gargant from the old SM2 Battles Book and liked the idea of being able to use any and all my Gargants with different Clans. I hope to use different Back Banners to show their clan.

So, green is best IMO... you cand do a better job of it though.

With regards to Clans I'm torn between Bad Moonz & Evil Sunz, swaying towards the Moonz.

Although I like the green gargant idea, meh I canne decide  :sigh:

My first gargants were painted in Goff colors like the ones in the GW studio armies (Ie. black, checkers, red head etc.)

LAter I started experimenting: I too like the idea that the gargent can pretty much be used with any clan if I like, so I based mine on a rusty metal base with a few patches of color in it.

Been a while but IIRC I undercoat black, drybrush tin bitz and mix in mithiril silver for highlights. Next step is picking out some patches with catachan green, white (for checkers) and scab red. Touch up the scab red with blood red and add the checkers. Then a bunch of various thickness of various rust color washes. Finally once dry a bit of dust and mud using graveyeard earth and bleached bone. I think I also gave he entire model a very light drybrush of bleached bone to accentuate highlights. The result looks subdued and reasonably murky to be passable for most clans IMO.
