So thanks to a trade I have another Imperator and thought that perhaps I needed to do a Chaos version of it to fight the Imperial one I have.

So should I kep the existing weapons and then just add some CHaos gubbins and adornments or should I redo the weapons as well?

I suppose it depends on how much work you want to put into it man.

If it were me, knowing that I'd probably only ever do one Chaos Imperator, I'd go all-out on weapons and everything.

Still I'd try and keep in mind that the Imperator model is a gaudy thing and the addition of too many Chaos bits could put it well over-the-top.

It's a fine line.  :vD

I say go for it!

Chaos can be fairly over the top if needed. It''l come down to personal taste. I'm not a fan of organic deamonic looking titans (they can look amazing when done well, I just get a bit squeamish when see them  :alien: ) but as was already mentioned, how many times are you going to get a chance to do an Imperator?

Go nuts and make a real center piece for your Chaos hordes!

This is of great interest and I will be keenly watching what you get up to on your Imperator PG. :cool:

If you haven't all the parts yet that you need or would like for the Chaos Imperator you might find them on the 40K Defiler model. I have recently managed to get some really nice pieces and parts from this model that will look great on the Imperator either to replace or decorate the guns.

Hope this is some help.

Your welcome PG. I have some of the Defiler tentacle arm whip things and would love to attach them to the Imperitor but I'd have to replace a main weapon. I can't bring myself to lose the firepower but it would look so cool. The arm the tentacles are attached to is just about the right size as one of the weapons arms.

What kind of ideas have you got so far for this project?

what edition do you play?  Is this just for fun or something that can actually be used?

If it's just for fun, or you're using house rules, the skies the limit.  

If it's going to be used against people, I'd attempt to make each weapon at least similiar to what they really are for your opponent's sake.

No Epic:A stats for a Chaos version and the Imperial version has no points so its mostly just for show and perhaps for the odd themed scenario.

I'm going to see hat I have in my bitz box and what I can graft onto the superstructure. No real plans so far other than adding lots of chains :-)

If it's still in parts I'd swap the silly tower guns for the turrets off the Mega Gargant.  You can make a neat tail from the centre bar off the old plastic undead Chariot (if you can find one).  A nice chaosy head, some chains and gubbins and some suitable iconography and viola!

I'd say no to wings.  It would probably be perfectly ok if the Imperator was being used as a stand in for some sort of 40K scale chaos robot, but as an Epic model it seems a wee bit silly.
