As a Holiday present to myself I too the 6x4 MDF board that I've been using as a game board on top of my dining room table and installed it permanently in my office.

I had converted myself a handyman desk out of 4x4's and 2x4's with an old drafting table top (5'x3') but it just isn't enough for all the Warmachine/Hordes/Epic gaming that I do.

So the MDF went down on the desk (2" overlap on the side with the keyboard slide and 10" overlap on the other side) and the whole room got moved around so that the table is now nicely in the middle with a narrow end against a wall with lots of space for visiting friends to sit on the other side.

My Wife is awesome, letting me pretty much to this stuff without consultation, even taking the baby for the day while everything got re-arranged.

A permanent game board should be a fixture in anyone's house.

Still in Montreal (It's Dave in Montreal), let me know if you are ever in the vicinity! I'm nearly finished 10K of Tyranids. No need to bring your models, I've got enough Eldar, Ig or whatever sitting around here.

My father-in-law lives in Montreal, but we all usually meet up in Ottawa.  If we're ever out to see him at his place, I'll definitely try to meet up!
