My WIP Dark Angels Scouts in camo ...  this affect was done by dripping an old Toothbrush in watered down paint and dragging my thumb across it repeatedly ...  Splashing the Scouts  ...

That's a brilliant way to do the camo effect on the scouts.

The detail work on the Legion looks great too.

Many Thanks Con ! I'm going to try that camo technique on AFVs too. And the LotD was fun to paint. The problem with using a 6MP camera is, you see in the pics, things you'd normally never see with the naked eye or in a game !

Very nice job all round. I have a detachment of my own LotD and these are great... the different models really adds to the effect. I'm a bit shocked you haven't managed a bone and fire pattern camo though. I like the Scouts, very... Commando/Predator.

Thanks W/H !  I just couldn't figure out what terrain, short of Lava from a Volcano, that black, white, red, yellow and orange would work in !    And my DA Scouts, well I plan on flashing back to my wasted youth. We wore camos from when I was a cadet on a Recon Tm. I'm going to paint the boots as jungle boots, rucks - OD Green, gloves black or green and I'm even going to paint the faces flesh, then dry brush lightly with green to simulate the way we used to camo our faces ...    I'm out of control !

Steeling this technique for my snow camo guard.  I was wondering how I was going to get all those little camo dot's on those little guys, thanks for the inspiration L4.

You are welcome ... this techique should do it !  IIRC correctly the Germans refer to this type of camo as "FleckenFarbe"  ...

I always thought it was "Flecktarn", (or "Speckled Camouflage" in English)?

Either way, a good technique for Epic!
