Well; Lords and Ladies, Gents and Fellow Taccommers, they've been two months in the making and so finally i give you the best shots i could muster of my revamped Marine Army, the Crimson Fists Task Force 'Divine Intervention'.
For those that didn't know i've been blogging it's progress on Taccomms here in case you'd like to see how it came to be and to see some more varied shots.  Bigger pictures can be found on my Photocbucket Album but in the meantime i guess a picture paints a thousand words:

Two games tonight; against BL marines...new dice, newly painted army, new army list...i died horribly both times!
My landing craft even blew up halfway through a firefight taking with it over half the 2nd Company and the Grand Master of the Chapter! Ugh!

Nice looking force

To do it justice, I would retake the picture on a suitable surface (the one above detracts from the actual minis), with a backdrop discussed in another thread on here.

You spent all that time painting them. They deserve to get a finished pic. Even photoshop it if you have to....

I would love to see this force in such a photo setup.

Yup, new armies are like this. You lavish time and love on them and they let you down on the first game. Never mind there's always the rematch.

Frogbear Can you give me a link and i'll see what i can do; i must admit that i would like a nicer picture too!

As for the drop pods; yeah i thought it was a cool idea too! :p I hated the idea of just having one drop pod marker so i came up with that.

oh, and, Warhead. one of the games was a rematch!  :_(

Great to see complete army shot and I liked flicking though the large pics on your photobucket account. Especially the SM Character stands= great detailing.

I had thought that your red was nt dark enough when I first saw pictures on your blog. I am not sure whether that was down to the lighting or whether you have darkened the red in more recent figures. Either way they look great!!

Have you got a complete force list of the 8k army? Im sure we can work it out but if you have already done so then would be cool to look at. Am particularly curious as to how many Tactical formations you have in 8k points. One of my dispointments over the rulebook SM list is that it seems to reward taking specialist formations such as mix of Assault/Devastator marines rtaher than mass of genrealist Tactical Marines. Would be nice to see SM force based on the core units from background and if can do well in tournament lists.

Hope you have better luck withe# your Crimson Fists next time. It seems that it is fresh varnish syndrome- the opponent seems to invariably do well against your newly painted figures- all that time & effort is rarely rewarded by the dice gods on their first outing. Lets hope that as the smell of fresh varnish fades that they bring you better luck.
