Finished it up, then realized I forgot the left arm! Well its as done as any Gargant Ive ever painted has ever been - they tend to be long term projects, never ending detail!

Great work, though "'e looks a bit 'armless".

Puns, terrible.

HOw on earth did you manage that?!?

Good work though; like the shading around the riveting; any hints or tips on that one?

Very nice Bro-Capt Parzval. Perhaps a bunch of lootaz stole Da Arm for their own Gargant?

Thanks guys!

As for the highlighting, theres no secret, but this is how I do it.

First I used an ink wash (or rather washes, as there were so many colours), then I added the highlights in one or two shades with a small brush, and when needed blended the edges between shades a little with highly diluted paint.

I find its a lot easier to do this on a Gargant than on imperial or eldar titans, because Gargants dont have all those flat surfaces that really need the blending to look good. On this particular mini I did manage it in a relativly short time, I was surprised myself.

The arm, well I actually did the head separately too, because it, and the arm, was very much in the way when painting the top and side of the body. The reason I forgot the arm was pretty much that it was so uninteresting, and I wasnt sure how to make it look any good. Will add it soon!

Can you do any dust effect near the groun and maybe some scorching near gun barrels and maybe a little paint chiping or rust? I love the bright gargant but I can't imagine that orks would have such a factory fresh gargant marching around.

Great work though!
Cheers!

Zap: True, the "old old" ones are even cooler. In the future I might try to get a hold of one. Not until Ive finished the two last Gargants in the army though (I have a total of four: This one, two Slashers, and one Mekboy Gargant).

Tepoc: Some dust would probably make it look somewhat more realistic, but Im not really aiming for realism here :vD More of what someone called a "cartoonish" style... And theyre orks so theyre better the more totally outrageous they look really! Besides my whole army looks like this so, well Im stuck with the cartoon style...
